Sounds like you guys gotta get some real radios so you can adjust steering rates near the center. I have a futaba 3pl and a spectrum dx3.

What is this adjustable steering rates you talk about.. The traxxas TQi has a steering adjustment knob and a steering sensitivity knob, but I doubt that is anything like you are talking about..

Sensitivity rate is similar. Just makes it less sensitive around center, but should still have full throw/steer angle at the very ends. With a computer radio, you just have more adjustability in the curves and throw limits.

My new radio lets you do graphs. I haven't messed with them yet. I think, no matter what, having a rock crawler that can do 40 is a bad idea :D

Yes! Crawls over everything! Turning ratio of a bus though. Might put the lift kit on only the rear. Fricken battery is heavy.

    Get both :D
Ryans honcho is cool too. Axial has several different models

I never tried FPV.. I don;t ahve the electronics to support it
Yeah, gotta jack up the rear.. I wanted to relocate the battery to the front on mine. Supposed to give you a more realistic weight balance?

The spools is what gives it such a bad turning circle. When I had open diffs in mine, it would turn on a dime!

That's what a guy told me to do...relocate the battery to the front for hill climbing.
Ahh....Spools ,..that makes sense on why I have to do five point turns....lol

If you leave just the front diff locked it will turn better. And help you climb rocks easier without flipping over so much. Or get a dig.

I would think they are busy on the weekend with all the real RC guys (talking only for me)

once summer comes around I may go down with my son during the week if the open and hope it's empty so I can just play around without needing to worry about getting in the "pros" way.. lol..

I used to go there frequently, they are open on the 4th sunday of every month. You can look them up on facebook, Sandbox rc Hawaii.
Real good track for shortcourses, wide and jumps aren't crazy. There are constructing another track that will be more technical.
The gate is locked, but call them up and you can get the code. The number listed on the site is 808-723-2443.
"Aunty" Piilani or "Uncle" Cailen, they run the track.

Its chill over there, there's no timed or sanctioned racing, its just for fun over there. Sure, you don't want to bash the track, try your best to drive clean and not bang into everything or everyone else. RCs are expensive and you don't want to damage someone else's hard work. Also a lot of time and effort goes into keeping the track nice and manicured. If you just want to mess around, I'd suggest getting ramps and going to the park. But its not an intimidating place or anything, good fun over there. Oh, wear closed toe shoes and I think its $15 to run all day.

Maybe you should invest in a 3d printer, so you can make your own replacement parts. Might save $$ in the long run!

By the time brandon dials that thing in, it'll probably be bulletproof.. or as bulletproof as a RC slash can be.. imagine how much you would break with a 3s.

Nah.. actually a bit of jealousy that Brandon actually runs his slash the way that it was meant to be run... and a bit of non - jealousy that he had to buy tons of parts that needs to be replaced....
