Since I always stop in and lurk on this thread, I might as well use it as a place to update my to do list. Everyone else is.

Things to do over the holiday weekend:

Cut grass for the first time this season.:)

All this shit won't get touched until noon on Saturday when I get up.

Weed whack all the trim ( just about an acre of yard):(

Pick up all downed tree limbs and cut up for campfire wood:(

Have evening camp fires with wife (sun, mon) and dog and beers:)

Finish up trailer like the one in my sig pic.(status pic screenshot of shop webcam):)

Do some more bodywork on my 04 TRD:)(need people to stop calling me to build these trailers)

Hopefully I can make these next 3 nights fly by with this threads help.

    KO

Just started lunch, work's busy and my landlord is changing the terms of my lease before the lease period is up so I'm fighting with them about that.

Can't wait until I buy a house, but not until after school ends.

We had a few load plans tonight, but we're done now. Waiting for morning to come to check weather and adjust if necessary. Kind of a dead period right now.

Won't be getting much sleep today; having a crew come in and take down/remove 6 Cottonwood trees in our backyard.

What are they trying to change?

They're changing how much they charge for my detached garage, and also changing the parking policy requiring me to park my truck in my garage (my motorcycle which is plated is in the garage along with my workbench and tools).

There's a massive parking shortage at my complex. Doesn't really hit me since I get home from work when most are at work.

They're going to make a dedicated outdoor m/c parking area as well. There has been thefts of equipment off scooters and motorcycles in the apartment complex which is why I don't want to park my bike outside, and also want to keep the bike out of the elements.

The lease has the rate for the detached garage defined in it, as well as parking and garage rules in the lease. I really don't think they can change them at their whim after reading the lease four times.

Oh and my taco wont fit in the tiny garage either, too narrow. I might be able to pull in with the mirrors in but would have to crawl out the window to get out of the truck. No thanks.

Sounds like a battle you should win. How much longer left on the lease?

Runs through September. I either want them to delay the policy affecting me until after my lease ends, or let me move out early w/o penalties. I don't want to move but would rather get out then stay there with a hostile landlord for another 4 months.

To me it sounds like the property manager didn't run the changes by his legal people (a big apartment company runs the place). When I e-mailed him I also cc'ed his boss the area director so hopefully once she gets wind of it that'll quash any issues.

I used to work at an apartment company so I know how they are generally run. The local community managers usually don't communicate well with their higher-ups as I'm hoping is the case but we'll see.

Not a big deal, but just an annoyance to deal with. I really hope not to have to go to the legal system to resolve it. Lawyers are the only winners there usually.

Nice! I work Monday since Europe doesn't have it off (my shift covers Euro ops) but get next Friday off instead and am taking next Thursday off too to give me a 4 day weekend.

Going out to Moab/Eastern Utah, maybe Southern Wyoming for Wednesday night with telescopes then to the Northwest corner of Colorado for a 3 day dirt bike camping adventure with friends.

Was going to go camping/telescoping this weekend but there's rain/clouds for 300 miles in every direction ah well.

I really do believe that Rob. You know some of my background but, if you heard it all you'd really say "ya, things do happen for a reason". Just my career choice, losing the job, the boy being sick, the location of St. Jude & my new employer (okay 7 years ago). But, it really did all work out.

I 2nd Robs sentiment, be safe. I've got to say, I'm not cut out for that type if work...I don't envy those in your position but, I'm glad we have decent people that are working to take these types out of our society.

    Sounds like a great weekend!

I gotta say I'm a little jealous of your not having to mow until the end of May. OTOH, when I start in March it means the weather is more to my liking.

That's horse shit. I'm not sure of the rules in your state but, in the states I've owned rentals you essentially void the lease if the terms are altered. It's a civil contract so I'm thinking you could just say I'm leaving if you wanted. There's not much he could say since he's altering it (at least here).

Got a few of those jobs out of the way. Lost a bit of sleep, but will make up for it this weekend with extra free time to relax. Well worth it.
