Vehicles are the worst investment you can make. A simple interest loan at 1.8
is next to nothing in interest charges per month. If you make the payment early
it's even less. I just put the funds towards real property where it'll grow.

Vehicles are depreciating assets not investments. Your last sentence is confusing. If you have a perpetual monthly truck payment where are you getting additional funds to invest in real estate? Not saying investing in real estate is a bad move, but if you didn't put money every month toward a depreciating asset (your truck) you would have more cash to invest, no? I'm not trying to argue, but I'm not following your logic, sorry.

Not yet, I have the cash to pay it off.

I started to get a 2013 first, none found with what I wanted, so the dealer ordered me a 2014.
Everyone thought the 36 months at 0% interest would be the same for the 2014's, it was not, Toyota stopped that for the 2013's.

So the finance guy discovered their mistake, they felt bad about it so they gave me $500 more for the trade in.

So for now we are just making payments, will pay off soon.

Add me to the hit list...Clicked the pay now link for the last time on my 08. I have owned 5 Tacomas in the last 15-20 years, and this was the first one I bought new, with 0 miles, and have put all 135k miles on it and paid it off. Feeling of great accomplishment. I have only God to thank for allowing me to be able to work, and the talent He gave me to provide. Gonna drive this one around for another year, then pass it on to my daughter. My next one will be an extra cab First gen. Like that body style better, and no need for the four doors.

Just paid off my 2013 TRD OR DC with 15k miles on it, Feels Great! :D I waited till I was 35 to buy this Tacoma as my first new vehicle. Drove cheap beaters my whole life, so that I wouldn't have to have a large payment on a new vehicle.

Also, not sure they ever had 0% interest on a 2013. When I bought mine 3.1% was the lowest they would go on a very small loan. I was told by salesmen when I was looking in 2012 and when I bought in 2013 that most other Toyotas have the 0% interest, but Tacomas do not.

Yep, took out a dealer financed 5 year loan for 5k on a 33k out the door truck, and paid it off in a little over 1 year. Was totally worth it.

Just couldn't wait any longer because my S-10 was rusted out and wasn't going to pass the next inspection, so sold it on Craigslist in two weeks for significantly more than any dealer was offering. All in all wasn't a bad deal, don't think I paid much more than $100 in interest, and didn't have to sacrifice on getting the fully loaded double cab that I really wanted.

Um, I can tell you haven't had to do the kilometer-mile conversion mentally on the fly that I have. It's close to 38,000 miles...

I traded my 13 for a 14 several months ago and paid cash. My 13 did have a zero percent loan which I had about $15k on. Hated having a payment, but after I negotiated my deal they said 0% was available whether I paid cash or not so I couldn't pass it up. Even at 0% something about having to send a payment was still unappealing.

I paid cash for mine when I got it brand new in 2010.
Actually, not quite, since I was using the new grad discount, the requirement is to get a loan from toyota. But I still paid it off after one week. Plus that year in 2010, the entire sales tax was credited in Federal income tax return as part of gov't stimulus package.
