Okay, put some $ in a sales guys hand to search out a blue double cab TRD sport. (surprisingly the "blue" appears to be the hard part)

I thought I wanted the trd exhaust on it too, its a $520 option if the factory puts it on but a $1200 for installation if his shop puts it on. (!)

I was kinda surprised how quiet it was anyway. I guess free flow can be quiet too, but I was hoping for a bit more rumble.

I'd be relatively certain I could get a local shop to put the TRD exhaust on for a lot less than $1200, but maybe I should consider a different cat-back system?

    What do y'all like?

    thanks, Larry

If you want the TRD exhaust you can buy it for about $400 here. Install it yourself, its 2 bolts.

Your dealer is a criminal. A child could install the TRD exhaust while watching Sesame Street and juggling oreo's at the same time.

Changing a flat is more difficult.

Ya, apparently they aren't interested in doing it in-house.

What about other systems tho? Is the TRD a favorite because its factory?

    Your delaer is a d***.

My delaer matched the trdparts4u price, I didn't have to pay shipping, and the install took under an hour.
My dealer charges (!!) $110/hr for labor, so, that would be about $550, if I'd had them do the install.

    I like the TRD system.

That installation price would make me question the integrity of your dealer/salesman. You should ask him what exactly is involved in the installation and why it would cost so much? Let us know what he says if you ask.

He sounds like a scumbag, and that right there would make me question the entire deal and seek out an entirely new dealer to do business with. What kind of deal are you getting on the truck and what options?

Blue, Green, and Gray are hard colors to get based on how many they produce for blue/green, and how popular the MGM gray is. I had to do a special factory order to get the truck with the exact options I wanted in Nautical Blue.

I paid about $600-$650 for my Flow Masters installed. And made it dual exhaust. Couldn't be happier with the sound. (Unless I cramp a V8 under the hood.)

my arm was in a cast when my TRD exhaust was delivered..Meineke installed it in 15 minutes..their shop rate must be $360.00 per hour because I felt raped at the $90.00 charge!

I'm not that concerned about their price for doing a job they clearly don't want to do. They gave a reasonable amount off MSRP, but gave me what I consider a GREAT deal on my trade in, so Im quite happy with the dealer.

I had my TRD exhaust put on a few weeks ago. It is pretty much what i wanted. I work at a dealership in service so free install yay! I want to stay factory is the only reason i really went with the TRD. I enjoy it.

I just installed mine last week, love it! It's throaty when I step on it but barely noticeable at 70 mph. My dealer had it listed on their website for $396+tax. As stated earlier, super easy install.

1200 for a cat-back install is absolute thievery. As others have said, do it yourself in 30 min or pay about 100 bucks. I'm pretty sure most shops will quote about an hour for a cat back install.
