This is true. Also, if you go with a higher PG ratio in your juices AND use a sub ohm setup on a mech mod, you'll definitely feel it even with very low nic. I do a 50/50 pg/vg on my own custom blends at 12mg nic, and I run a .4-.5ohm dual coil setup on my Magneto and it hits like a train. You'll definitely feel it. I have been upping the VG and adding a small percentage of deionized water to cut the viscosity and it still hits strong. It's a totally different world compared to the throw-away C4s and even the higher end dual coil disposable coil tanks.

    The general rule is:
VG = more visible cloud, but thicker sweeter juice
PG = more throat hit, and thinner juice

Yup, know all about the PG/VG ratios and differences and such.

However, I couldn't find a definitive answer as to whether I could drop nic out completely or not. Looks like its worth it to give it a shot. I don't need things to "hit like a train" per se...I just need to have some sort of sensation of inhalation. :)

Thanks again for the input. :)

lol...I just know that the heavier hits come from nicotine and my ultimate goal is to have none of it. :)

Only reason I really STILL vape is because I'm "addicted" to the act...the manipulation, the inhale, the exhale, etc...part of my ocd I'm sure. :)

Pretty much the same here. Now that I haven't smoked real cigs in over a year, I just vape because I like the taste and the action.

I'd be willing to bet that a sub-ohm hit on a mechanical mod with a dual coil setup will get you the feel you're looking for at the lowest nic levels, or at zero. My next mixes are going down from 12mg to probably 6 and I'll see if I still get the same throat hit with the same 50/50 pg/vg ratio.

Hades clone ordered today, with the magnetic switch upgrade. Can't wait to get a hit off that thing with the big 26650 50A batteries I got for it. Ordered a 28mm dual coil drip tank for it as well. Will be nice to have a bigger platform to work on and to hold more cotton/juice so I don't have to drip as much especially when driving.

try a higher PG to VG ratio. PG gives you throat hit as well, not just nicotine. I sub ohm 6mg juice (50/50 pg/vg) and it has plenty of throat hit. Try a 60/40, 70/30 mix. There are a lot of online juice vendors where you can select your PG/VG ratios.

I already prefer 70/30 mixes so I should be good there. :)

Got the Hades clone today. Came with the magnet switch upgrade, too. Picked up a couple Sony 26650's as well. 3500mah proven, and hits at 50A. Fired it up with a .450 dual coil drip setup and it hit like a locomotive.

well to be truthful, you're only drawing 9.3A with a .45ohm coil on a fresh battery :p

but 3500mAh is hella nice for long life

But at a 50A max rating, I'll be safe from blowing it up in my face at least  Can't wait to see how long a true 3500mah actually lasts on this ohmage though.

for sure, more than safe. I was just being a correction-nazi when you said "hits at 50A" :D

true, thanks for the correction. So with the Ohm's law conversion, that's 37.3 watts of power when my battery is at 4.1v (full charge, give or take). Serious power. It heats up these 26awg coils instantly, whereas my Magneto with the 18650's took a couple seconds to heat them up.
