who here thinks they live in the COOLEST place on earth? what makes it awesome? what makes it suck?

I will tell you why I think Visalia, CA is cool:

    close to mountains, rivers, lakes

closish to beach (not a big fan though)

large industrial/ commercial presence in and around town to keep me busy and decently paid. im a pipefitter/welder/plumber by trade but do lots of other stuff in construction too. lots of food-plant stuff

    Visalia sucks because:

the mountains, rivers, and lakes are getting less and less accessible

there are far too many shitty people

keeps expanding in the shopping-mall way and eating up all the country homes I would like to live in someday

    I HATE working in food-plants

    there's no water

summers are WAY too hot. no different than the desert but we have higher humidity

happens to be located in California, which im not too proud of.

I dunno, I want to move somewhere, and feel right now is kind of a pivotal time to do so, the question is where could I go and be able to use my skills to make similar money per what a 3-bedroom house costs? any ideas?

    the Wyoming vote is overwhelming!

I like the idea of Seattle, as long as its not like its second cousin, Portland. . . . .though I was young at the time I visited, my impression of Oregon was not great.

ill have to give Washington some thought

not too familiar with Canadian geo, but I know I visited a little island called Victoria Island off of Vancouver and had a great time. . . . .absolutely zero drama.

Know of any piping to be done in Canada?

I travel around the world for work and I would only move to the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand if I had to chose...I lived in Europe..it was Ok but not "great". In the US I don't care much, every place has his pros and cons, I work in 11 different states from Maine to Cali and they are all special and beautiful in different ways.
