As much time as I spend on this site lurking, I may as well have a build page. I hope I can have as great of a thread as so many of you that I've lurked on.

This is my 2001 Lunar Mist, DC 4x4 SR5 TRD. Currently it has 186Kish... miles and climbing.

    As it sits today 05.08.2014
    [IMG]

Normally I run a "Snugtop SS" but it's hanging in the garage right now.

    Mods so far

    Suspension

-Bilstein 5100 with Toytec coils in front
    -Bilstein 5100 rear
    -All Pro Standard pack rear
-"Air lift" air bags in rear
with compressor mounted flush with the frame under the cab

    Armor
    -Elite Offroad front plate bumper
    -4xInnovations sliders with kickout
    -R.A.T. front and mid skids

    Rims and rubber
    -SCS F5's (matte gun metal)
    -265/75/16 Treadright wardens
    -BORA 1" wheel spacers

    Lighting
-Morimoto projector housing w/ LED amber halos
    -LED interior lighting (all red)
-Lightforce 170 strikers wired to high beam circuit
-4" plasma glow 3000 lumen LED flood plattern (fog cut outs in bumper)

    Audio
    -Kenwood HU, bluetooth capable
    -Polk DB571's Front doors
-Rockford Fosgate P1683's in the rear

    Comms
-Uniden 510xl (Flush mount in ashtray location)
    -K40 4' Superflex Fiberglass Antenna

    Topper
-Snugtop Super Sport painted to match

    Electrical
    -Grey wire mod
    -Blue sea aux fuse box

When I bought it, it had 142,000 miles on it and had only 1.5yrs on a brand new frame (replaced in the recall). It is a three owner truck (me being the 3rd). I purchased it from a good friend of mine (he owned it for less than 8mos.) who had bought it from the original owner.
How it looked when I bought it.

I finally finished up the topper storage/ lift I had installed in the garage.

Here's a few close ups of the rigging and such in case anyone else wants to tackle this. In all I have about $200ish in it, including the HF 120v winch.

The load spans three rafters for more than enough load distribution.

3" lift EIBACH coils w/ 5100's front, OME/ Dakar leaf springs w/ toytec adjustable shackles at 1.5" and 5125's out back. 33x10.5x15 KM2's Relentless DIY steel bumper.
    Nice truck! Like the build

I've debated doing the AAL on my dakars or just getting the allpro leaves, maybe expos but unsure what to do.
Do the standard AP leaves hold weight well?

    Thanks!

I think they do. I almost always have my shell on, and with that, they ride very nice and don't sag (other than the drivers side lean). It weighs probably in the 125-175lb range. I hauled 22 boxes (6"x48") of hardwood flooring a few weeks ago and it sagged a bit but I didn't have bro lean from it.

Thanks for the info. I carry about 150#s regularly and I want to add a hard top shell eventually so that would put me at around 300# constant bed weight. I think expos might be best for me because weight is gonna be added on with other mods, especially after a steel rear bumper.

Hey man, sweet truck! Like the retros. What backspacing are you running with the SCS? Any problems with them? Thanks!

Thanks man. Ya, I love the F5's! I had to have them as soon as I came across them here on TW. I'm pretty sure they are 4.5" BS. I believe Vin now has them in 3.5" BS. I'm running 1" BORA wheel spacers too so it's basically the same as 3.5" BS. I don't have any issues with them.

With the 3.5 inch backspacing are you hitting your fender when flexing?

Nice truck btw. I love the snugtop, just something about that brand, they really make a great looking topper.

I don't have any rub but I've also trimmed and pounded the pinch weld a bit.

Thanks! I agree with the snug top too. One of the best tops that "complete" or "accentuate" the 1st gen taco....IMO. I really want an XTR to replace my Super Sport. I'm waiting and hoping for something to come along.....

I am considering those wheels with 285's. Might need the 4.5 BS and a lot of trimming...

I hope you do find an XTR. I haven't seen one on a lunar mist DC. I wish they made one for the Xtracab! Makes me sad they don't. :(

How do you like the fogs cut out of the front bumper?
