microfiber......and waffleweave towels are awesome.

 

i bought some microfiber cloths
but they are kinda small.... i use a sponge to wash... then a microfiber cloth to rinse and a thin microfiber to dry.... i used last time turtle wax soap, but i didnt liked it... it left a lot of water marks on the windows

 

i always use turtle wax ice wash(contrary to what people say about the ice lineup.....the wash is awesome) or meguiars or mothers. you can get a waffleweave towel(good size) at walmart if you have one nearby. they work good for drying and dont scratch. i also use a "spotless dryer" by detailers choice(got it at wal mart too), which is basically a decent size shammy type sponge that you constantly ring out....it cuts drying time in half.

 

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!! One more question, I bought one of those "the absorber" chamois (sp). Is it better just to use a clean cotton bath towel or a special towel like the one I bought?

 

i know this question wasnt directed to me,but i figured i'd answer anyway.

dont use cotton towels......they will definitely scratch the paint. the absorber is fine and dandy to use! i'd stick with it!

Maybe you can send me a pic of your towels and shammy..... the product i used for washing was turtle wax zip wax.... i dont think its to good.... i dont think i used it wrong, but that could be it

the zip wax isnt too good. the ice wash is awesome, as is meguiars and mothers washes. you can use a sponge and one of these washes and you'll be fine. just always wash with hot water, and rinse with cold. you cant really go wrong doing it this way.

 

How do you get hot water out of your hose?? or do you fill your bucket inside? A hot water in the hose mod would kick a$$. I think This is a stupid question but what the hell....

 

i wish i had a hot water hose mod.....that'd be kickass!!!

actually.....i usually just put my carwash soap in a bucket and get hot water from the bathtub faucet. fills the bucket quicker than any of the sinks.

 

We had outside hot water at my grandmother's house back in the day--when she had the house built, she made the builder run cold and hot water lines to garage faucet. So all you would have to do to get hot water outside is run a second line and replace the faucet with a two handle.

 

My parents have a sink in thier garage too. New house though, my dad wanted it for some reason.
