    Thanks guys! Crap guess I never really thought about winning before LOL, these have always been a great learning exercise for me.

    Thank you! I have a Pentax K-3 and the lens is a DA*300mm f/4. I was kind of surprised that the max shutter speed when I attached the flash is 1/180. From my limited knowledge to freeze action it is better to go with multiple flashes at 1/64 or 1/32 power. For that picture I had to go up to 1/16 because it was cloudy and starting to get dark and I have only the one flash. This hobby can get expensive, already started looking at some flash kits.

    To keep him in flight I ended up cutting off one of the perches and taping over the other holes on the feeder. I tried to keep the feeder out of the picture but something about this picture is different that I liked, his posture is almost aggressive and challenging and I agree the slightly out of focus rear part and blur does something to it. But will spend the summer experimenting and improving.
