I think Allen Springs CG is what I'm thinking of. The Wizard Falls fish hatchery is pretty cool, and it's close to Green Mt. There are some fun roads up on Green Mt, nothing too hard, but some cool stuff. There are Sugar Pines up there that are massive, mushrooms should be poppin', and even a few Cedar groves. It's a biologically interesting part of Oregon, where the wet side begins to peter out into the desert. If you are looking for a place to boondock (no campground) there are a few spots along the Metolius river that are nice, just drive downstream, as well as on Green Mountain itself if the skeeters are bad down by the river.

What year is it? Build specs? I have a 1950 dodge coronet project...all original but I am considering swapping in something a little more noisy.

1940 Chrysler Windsor. '68 383 with a 727tf and 8.75" rear with 2.76 highway gears. Internals are stock spec and a bit tired, but platform is good for future performance build. Built my own headers with side pipes and 2 auger mufflers on each side.
Running reverse flow with remote mount electric w/p.

Nice. That's very similar to what I want to do. I want a driver. I like how you kept it all mopar too. It's tempting to do the 350/350 9" thing, but it doesn't honor the car.

It never was an option. Only things not mopar are the booster/master and seats. Lots of people think the 8.75" is stronger than the 9". The only downfall, which I knew of when I started, is that MOPAR is a heck of a lot more expensive than Chevy.
Very few of the components were bolt on like with SBC stuff. But, with so much of it being designed and/or built by me, it definately brings more pride in it.

Welcome, I don't know much about your area up north, but down here in So. Oregon there are tons of awesome camping places. Google camping in your area and a bunch of stuff will pop up for sure.

I finally got my new tires mounted today. Hankook dynapro ATM rf10 in 265/75/16, so slightly larger than stock. They already feel stickier in the road, very minimal noise increase, steering feels like it is just a tiny bit stiffer. I'm excited to see how they do offroad. I might have to take them to the back area of my property to test them out.

Hey guys, got a prob to solve. I've got a slow leak of diff oil from between the diff and the CV. I pulled the CV and put in a new oil gasket, plus reinstalled the CV. Didn't help.
At this point I'm either thinking something on the CV is warped or I'm missing a gasket.

Any clues? I know this is pretty wide open.

Any good Olympia mechanics? I just want to get that option lined up if needed.

Make sure the vent hose isn't clogged. If it is, as it heats up and expands oil will puke out of somewhere. The inverse is also true, if you hit a nice cool water crossing the air in the diff will condense, drawing in water if the breather is clogged.
