I plan on getting a second gen at some point now that I'm done with school. But I'm waiting to see if the diesel pans out, if so I want to get one of the limited run ones.

If I get bigger (than the tacoma) I'll get a older F-250 ike this
    [IMG]

The 4.0 has nice power, the reliability is good, there's a SC available for it, and 2nd gens have good overall reliability (except for the frames rusting if you live in the salt belt), it's kind of like the 1st gen but with more power, and slightly better MPG, and a 1,500 Lb better towing capacity.

My one dislike about the 2nd gens is how low the steering wheel sits.

I've always had the idea that after I graduate and get a job, I want a later model 2nd gen and wanna put a 6" lift and 35's on it lol. I'll definitely keep my '01 for fun and whatnot, but I've always wanted a 6" lifted truck and I'll be damned if I'm not getting another Tacoma! Does this make me a douche lol?

Something like this: (but not exactly)

ha I'm not trying to do any compensating lol...I just love the look of the 6" lifted 2nd gens. I'd never put one on my '01 b/c they just don't look right, IMO

Yeah, I'm just not really a tundra fan :notsure: My uncles police truck was a tundra and it was decent to drive, but I really like the way the older F-250s drive.

It is expensive, no doubt about that, but the interior is so much nicer in the 12+ compared to my sis's 08 and my cousins 05.

Around town there probably isn't much difference, but highway cruising the 2nd gen wins hand down, you can cruise at 75 and be get 17-19 MPG (calculated from my sis's and cousins trucks), where in my truck you would be 15-16 MPG.

I think I'd be happy with my truck if it had a properly geared 5 speed in it and if it were SC'd.

Why a 6.7? They require DEF and are to quiet.
If I could chip a 7.3 and put the 6.0 torque shift trans behind it I'd be happy.

I like it except the rims and tires. I'd do a 4 inch lift with 37s and 18 inch bullet hole rims

Don't want another old truck. 6.0 would most likely need work and I could get more power out of a 6.7 than a 7.3. Although I hate how quiet the 6.7s are

My mom wants a tundra but I'm trying to get her to wait until the Cummins comes out in them to see if it's worth it.

Yeah the 6.0 does take some work (at minimum it needs an EGR delete).

    Because of turbo lag?
