I am having a slightly fuzzy memory on that but 99% positive the diff is bare and you swap all the mounts and gadgets over.

Yeah, that's basically what it's doing. Sending power to the front diff... Not quite manual hubs but similar idea.

Remember trying to fit some goofy looking fork over a cup in the diff? If not you got a bad actuator. If so maybe yours died, you did make sure it's plugged in right?

Yeah I can't remember if the new diff came with an actuator on it or if we swapped your old one over...Was a long day lol.

It was plugged in as far as I know. We pulled over and Gage pulled skids off and unplugged and re-plugged it in.

Yeah at the point we had just made the new diff look like the old diff and got shit done. I'll check tomorrow. ECGS did an awesome job at delivering a clean diff so I should still be able to see the difference.

Pro tip: You can manually shift into 4hi and 4lo with nothing other than a 10mm wrench. Sounds like your Tcase actuator is working fine, and the suspect module is the ADD like others said. You can pop it out, and slide the collar over to lock the ADD in if it goes tits up on the trail.

For the Tcase, sliding the shift rod all the way out is 2hi, one click in is 4 hi, and all the way in is 4 lo. The rear elocker can also be engaged manually in a pinch in the same manner.

Awesome! I read about the elocker through a diy thread for the diff replacement but didn't know I could do it myself for everything else. Knowing that would have made a snowy hill climb a bit easier haha.

Alright, I got the ADD off. It had some water in it and I let it dry out. I put it back together and plug it in. I switched between 4hi and 4lo to make sure the fork was moving. I plugged it back in, jack all four tires off the ground, and still only the rear was moving. So then I double checked that the fork was on the ring properly. Still no dice.

I then manually moved the collar both directions. Still no front power.

    So any other ideas?

Your electronic tcase isn't engaging. You could have fired it.

Have josh sit in the truck and turn the 4wd knob and get under the truck and listen for the tcase actuator.

Or can you see the front drive shaft moving.

He said with the knob in 4 he wasn't able to turn the driveshaft, that would mean the transfer case is engaged... Right?

I can audibly here it engage. Wouldn't there be a warning if it couldn't engage? As soon as I unplug the ADD it flashes the 4wd lights.

I guess I can try turning the driveshaft again? I sent Josh away so he could get some mountain time. I'm at a loss of ideas so until I find something that might work I won't be messing with it. I am working on gravel and in the sun so the least time I am under the truck the better :p.

Is there any chance it has to do with the front diff? I'd like to give ECGS a call as soon as possible to get the ball rolling on the warranty.

If it's on jack stands already put it in 4wd and see if the front driveshaft is spinning. If it's spinning the problem is in your front end.

Not sure what would be messed up with the diff to not engage at all? :notsure:

Its off jack stands. I only have one with me and a bottle jack so I'll have to get more later. I used one of joshes to get the rear up and then just jacked to front to get it off the ground. I used my hands to run the clutch since it was to tipsy to sit in

You could have a buddy watch while you drive to see if it moves.

Did you check out the vent line? Not sure if that would do anything, but I would check it if your front shaft is spinning.

No I didn't. We forgot to reconnect the breather hose and I went through water well above my diff. I am assuming that's how the water got in it. I'll have to do it later. My dads headed to work and my mom is passed out. And I don't know a single person that lives out here.
