Yeah, I may not have been so nice to the poor portly fellow in uniform though, so he made it a point to tick me off. It was fine in the morning, but as it got busier, they started to rain down.

You said you were in a yellow two seater right? Did you pull off under the bridge? I may have seen you

Also, did you see the bus accident on the way from the top drop point to the bus station? It was gnarly, everyone was okay though as far as I know

 

Ya we started at point 2 under the bridge around 1030. Yellow 2 seat kayak with a group of people w/ a stereo cooler and a couple of rafts

 

Why were cops harassing you when you're kayaking?

 

Welcome to Arizona people die on the river all the time from being stupid

 

Because they have to put up with hundreds (some days probably thousands) of super drunk people so sometimes they can be assholes

Ahhhh, one does not know about our Salt River. It serves two purposes. One, provides water to the Phoenix metro area. Two, provide entertainment for the thousands of people who tube down the river every weekend during the summer. Most of which are drunk by the end of the trip.

 

As of this month I have been a member here for 5 years

 

Most are well on their way to being shit faced after floating for about 10 min

 

Oh that's a smart place to start, the beginning gets too congested!

I have to figure out a stereo system of some sort, I usually just carry a shower radio with me, but reception there sucks!

I got harassed when I had an empty truck. I was heading back to the top to pick up the second vehicle, so I'm sure we looked like the rest of the goobers on the river at that point. But it was poor police work and he was very unprofessional.

Way too many idiots, it was sick watching the way people treated the river too. I came out with three trash bags full of garbage I swooped up along the way.

All the smart people camp up there and run it for 2 days, multiple times each day and are already hammered before they even start tubing.

 

I have never ran the salt river in any way.

 

Both of these are true.

 

The picture looked pretty deep but in person it doesn't look that bad at all, you did a great job gluing it back together. And you look nothing like Dr Evil

 

I think that would be hard, I would suggest a tube, kayak, or something that floats. Wait, unless you run on water?

I have hiked it twice further up north near cibicue tho. But behave never FLOATED it

Well you are under the age of 21 surrounded by drunk assholes. I could see how it would be a bad time. But in all honesty thats why I have not gone either. I do my fair share of drinking and floating. I just dont want to be worried the entire time that im going to be harassed and ticketed when I depart. I usually go down to Blyth and float the colorado river. More fun to me cause we make a huge floating island of fun

 

Being any age surrounded by drunk assholes is a nightmare.
