Fluid leak from steering column on drivers mat

My 2011 tacoma is leaking fluid out of the steering column, drips onto the brake pedal and then onto the floor mat. Any ideas?

 

I'm pretty sure that's the blinker fluid from the controls

 

JK. There shouldn't be fluid lines in the steering column. There shouldn't even be enough grease in there to drip
what is the consistency of the fluid and what does it smell like?

Definitely don't want him tasting it if it's antifreeze lol

 

The blinker fluid is reading full and the cruise control coolant is also full.

The fluid is brownish in color and smells and feels just like motor oil.

 

Sounds like a clutch push rod issue ? are you automatic or manual transmission ?

OK , well that eliminates the leaking fluid from the clutch master cylinder pushrod . Only thing that comes to mind is lubrication used in the assembly process within the steering column . Does it only drip when the interior is warm ?

 

3yrs old, bought brand new, never leaked until the past few days and yes it just finally got warm out here in MN.

 

I am about 15 hours North of your location and its starting to warm up here as well . Still have ice on the lakes but if you park into the sun for a few hours , the interior of the truck really goes up in temp . I tinted my windows and use one of those foil window covers to keep the interior from boiling over . Not saying this is your issue . No powered lubricants under your dash with the automatic other than the hydraulic brakes . Take a flashlight and pinpoint the leak . Sure sounds like assembly lube .

 

Thanks gear cruncher, I will investigate. Hope it warms up your way, I just got back from Red Lake Canada for opening walleye fishing. Too cold and too much ice but caught a few.

Couldnt launch my boat for opening weekend so I had to drive North 50 miles and fished off a culvert .Used 12 dozen minnows in 45 minutes . it was a blast
