Weird that they would purposely turn away business. I work in retail, some people will come in and but $2 worth of stuff, some people come in and buy $400 worth of stuff. Money is money..?

Tried to do the same thing as the OP. Went into their retail location here locally, ask if I could just purchase just the console cover, they said they couldn't do that without purchasing a seat cover. Well, WO lose another potential customer.

Like another member suggested got my console from a member here on the BST section. Covers are great and price is right. Plus he has different colors to choose from.

If anything it seems like they're giving away business to people like adio linked to.

    More power to them!

I think the best solution if they REALLY wanted to utilize the console covers to help sell their seat covers is to offer them at a discount if bought together with the seat covers. Or free, I don't know how much everything costs. What if you already have seat covers you're happy with? By offering the discount they would offer incentive of arguably the same productivity for customers to purchase both products, and if a customer wants the console covers only, let them buy only them.

Or hell, mark them up $$$ if it's a big deal. "Non member" price.

Thanks - I looked at Redline before pulling the trigger on the Wetokle and while they are top notch they are not padded.

Maybe Ill call them because while they do not offer a padded console cover on their website they do offer padded arm wrests for our trucks. My guess is they will make whatever you want. I just wanted to stay away from them because while on their site I also put door handles and arm wrests in my shopping cart LOL. I already have leather for the arm wrests and don;t need handle covers :D

Here's another thought. And it's a reach so... but maybe they only sell with the seats because when they are cutting the seat material they use the scrap materials to make the console cover to maximize there profitable inventory. Cutting a section of material just for a console cover over 1000× could result in the loss of enough material to make a seat or 100 ' s of seats. Just a thought

On a positive note - if enough people respond here that there is in fact a market willing to pay only for their covers - maybe I would forward this thread on and show them that the market is out there and they are missing their chance.

Thing is........Im not sure that it would be cost effective for them to make the center covers alone.

If they can figure out how to sell this thing by itself and make money I'm sure they could do the covers and price them accordingly.

Now just need to work on getting them to do so.

Good point. In the end, If they don't want to make it, they don't have to. Its their choice.

I have to think they don't believe:

    The market is there
    They can compete concerning price
They can keep up with production

Other than those three I can't think of why anyone in their right mind would turn down sales of existing products :notsure:

If they turn away potential customers who drive to their location I am dumbfounded at what could really be holding them off from selling them to the public.

As an honest review of his product (I bought one for my 98-00).

There is no padding to his whatsoever. It's literally paper thing fabric. Kind of itchy too.

His stitching and craftsmanship are top notch, no doubt... but the product fell way short of my expectations. I haven't installed it and have no plans of doing so either.

looks like WO were right that you and the OP weren't going to buy their seat covers anyway. I was getting one for free and declined because i didn't have a consol, didn't know it was a big deal.

yea I have no need for a polyester cover. Not looking for change in "looks". I need functional padding.

when you have boney elbows it is :D

I'm just going to make my own. A member had some left over leather he gave me and I did my arm wrests last night. Ill have just enough for a console cover. Now I just need to figure out what padding I can use.

I think they are padded to your desire

    from Andy's auto sports

"Before you purchase, please take the following into account: what you will receive is a leather armrest cover, made taller according to your selection of padding thickness and the necessary padding foam sized to the base of your armrest. It will be up to you to install it on your armrest. Depending on the shape of the armrest you might need to trim the edges of the foam slightly (any sharp knife will get the job done) and glue the foam to the armrest and/or the two layers of foam together. You might want to consider having the padding installed professionally in an interior shop"
