For the paint color, I would buy two small cans and try them on a test piece. See which is closest.

I don't think I would use construction adhesive. Walls aren't perfectly straight. You might have problems with it sticking if the wall bows at all. Plus, I would think nails would be better should you ever have to take it off again. Adhesives could take part of the wall with it if you have to take them off.

For a white baseboard, you could just use a white caulk.

You could pick up a cheap nailer from Lowes. I bought a 2 gallon compressor that came with a nailer for around $99.

Hey Evil, was checking out Lowes, saw they have a Blue Hawk 2 gal compressor with nailer for $100 as you mentioned. It only takes nails up to 18 guage 1-1/4". Wouldn't those nails be too short for baseboard? The baseboard itself is 9/16" and the drywall I beleive is 1/2". That would only leave about 1/4" to go into studs.

Will do Wiley! The previous baseboards were installed with both adhesive and nails, and man was it a pain in the ass to repair.

As a plumber, I've had my own toilet leak for about a month now. I had a coffee can under tank / bowl bolt letting it drip into it.
As you see it's not a common toilet.
It does give you more options for having a toilet and without breaking concrete. It's a floor mount rear discharge, so I had plumbed it thru the wall and out to septic.ate3any4_8c2192976ef3e7cf6ee665489c46969b73015f23.jpgypujuna3_be835d90b82ae601fe0721a94e3e69627151ba02.jpgduteha6a_38ce6782b55ba73baf29051dc3ade6d1178a4385.jpg3u2a3yze_a34e601dd6c7d9561004fb97681ce373963dbf41.jpg

I started work on my bench seating in the small room next to the living room. I was going to build an enclosed bench, but decided on a storage cubby. My wife found some nice 12x12x12 baskets at Ikea. The pattern is similar to the fabric she used to reupholster the chair. We bought some kitchen cabinets from Home Depot on Memorial Day. It turns out they had 20% off in-stock cabinets. I didn't realize they were on sale until I saw the total at the register.

I built the base out of 2x4s and built plywood boxes for the seating area. I still have to put a face on the plywood edge, paint the unit white, then build some tops for the cabinets and add cabinet drawer and door pulls. I plan on using some left over wood from the large bookshelf that was in the family room. My wife is going to make the cushions and pillows to finish it out. We may paint the wall panels white as well.

When we were laying flooring, my wife did this room. I told her to leave some space by the wall for the bench seats as I didn't want to cover the new flooring with the unit. She left the exact amount of space needed. There's about a 1/8" gap between the floor and the cabinets. Pure luck.

I plan to use the room for my musical instruments and amps.

Looking good. I've always wanted to build a bench seat like that at back door.

The Ultimate fire ring. Purchased it on eBay only because it was out of stock on Amazon. $106 delivered. 31in in diameter and 12 inches high. Most of the materials came from Lowes. I looked at a stone store and Home Depot but Lowes had a color that complemented the rock around our small pond.

AC units do need to be insulated, I don't understand why they don't use the same model so it would fill the same hole. I have a feeling your going to pay something, talk them down a little. Always ask what the cash quote is.

I would push the issue with the insurance company if they say they will cover all necessary installation then make sure they cover this "additional" charge. Almost feels like the contractor is double dipping.

I have one of these in my bedroom. The thing is a beast from the 70s (20 amp plug). It's super loud. Do you have pictures of your old and new unit? I'm interested in replacing mine some day but haven't looked yet at what's out there.
