Do you know why? Is 245 too narrow to have a market for big tires? I also mentioned that I didn't mean that specifically, I meant a 31-33" 245 width tire in general. Any width in that range.

Many people do not calc MPG's correctly with stock tires let along calc tires that are 3" larger.

My thought is most data on here is not correct.

To prove this don't ask someone what their MPG is.... also ask them how they got the info (the formula).

Why would it be incorrect with stock tires?

I don't recall going over it. My formula? Well if you have a stock (oem) vehicle with no modifications I would bet money that the miles your odometer reads divided by the gallons used to get those miles will give you an accurate MPG for that tank. Am I wrong?

No, I don't know why this size is not made. I looked for that size size on tirerack and discount tire and came back with nada.

Why would a completely stock truck not read correctly? If it's reading high, that means you are traveling less miles than you think, meaning it shows a higher MPG? And I know it will change it. I'm not saying you should continue to use it for calculations without adjusting.

Speaking of mpg and percent difference. Does anyone know if fuelly has an option to automatically calculate for different tire sizes?

I'm planning to add a 1" body lift next. Maybe after an exhaust

maybe it was a decision made at production to have the odometer run high vs low...possibly to move people out of the 3yr/36k warranty asap :spy:

I picked up the hypertech speedometer cal when I went up to 255s and tested it with all of the radar speed limits on base(dropping from a cool 35mph to miserable 25mph everywhere.

My mpg still dropped a little, but now hovering around 16.3 with a lot of armor and some extra fat from the 4wd conversion.

Rolling on Toyo's are great, but those are some heavy tires as well. If I took off the armor and got a lighter tire, i'd probably go back up to 19+mpg

When I still had my 245 75 16 stock tires I compared the speedo reading and GPS speed with an OBD2 app. They're were pretty much on par with each other. Going up size to these 255 brought my speedo up by 10%.
    Speedo reading 90 km/hr
    GPS reading 99 km/hr

I would be because there are multiple tire sizes offered. The manufacturer probably isn't going to bother adjusting it for each size, it's close enough they can use one configuration (most likely the one that gives them the best EPA rating).

@tw200 and luka, is there any way to get your speedometer and odometer to read correctly with larger tires AND get your truck to shift at the correct times?

I used a odometer app (Which seems reliable to the naked eye) and according to it, my odo is 98.24% correct, reading more miles than it should. That is with 265/50R20.

Red looks Good. I would have bought a red Tacoma if one was available when I was shopping. I do like my Spruce Mica Tacoma.

It says it is 13 feet error, but that's not a reliable source. I took heed of this though, that's why I went about 60 miles with it. (Has a "pause" feature so it picks up where you left up when you get back in the truck)

So since PSI increases diameter, is that a negative MPG change? Of course outweighed by the MPG gain from high inflation, but still, is it a negative change? I think I will give one try to running that super high PSI everyone is talking about... I'm just afraid I will burst it :notsure:

Yes I am serious. People on TW lately have been talking about running numbers up to 50 PSI. As you can imagine there was lots of arguing about it, and I have researched it, and apparently yes many people do run near max PSI for extra MPGs at the cost of a stiffer ride. I am legitimately concerned about over-inflating, is that strange..?
