I currently have a 2012 Baja that I purchased new and that I've been very happy with. I paid it off a couple of months ago and now am considering trading it in in order to continue to have a vehicle with low miles. These are the 2 models that I am considering. Please don't suggest buying a base model and modifying it myself as I do not have the time to do so. If you were in the market, of the 2 vehicles listed which would buy and why?

    Thanks, Jim

You drive a 'yota, why are you worried about high miles?

Man, paying off a car in 2 years?!?! What's that like? :D

I'd go with the '15 since you obviously like having the newest/latest/greatest.

Your truck is only 2 years old. Why pick up another car note for essentially the exact same truck, if you're happy with the current one? If you've made up your mind, why not get the Pro since it's a little different?

If I was in your shoes, I'd use that money for more guns! (It seems you're a fan of GA Precision.)

If you are really bent on getting a new Tacoma, I'd just wait for the 15 Pro and get that instead of a 14 Baja. Why not go for the latest and greatest (TRD Pro) than waste your time and money in getting the same exact thing just 2 years newer?

Maybe buy a base model and have the dealer or a shop install what you want since you have no time?

This may be off base, but it seems since he wants to stay in vehicles with lower miles that he probably isn't willing to put in the money to have it decked out higher than the Baja or PRO package to then turn around and sell it a year later.

14 Baja's are $39K.... Base plus icon stage 4 Would be $10K less.

I had it in my head more along the lines of an LT setup lol, probably and over assumption on my part, but it depends on what OP does with his truck

I think I may be a little off myself... A new TRD Sport would come in at 33, and I think a stage 4 icon is like 3-4k... Either way, wouldn't do a Baja, and not going to pay an extra 7k just for a TRD Pro grille.

I am so confused why would pay off a vehicle thats only 2 years old and then turn around and buy a new one only to take on more payments

Man you are literally throwing your money out the window at this point.
Perhaps leasing a truck and changing it out for a new one every couple years would work better for you.

As far as the two trucks go, buy the one you want most because it’s obvious to me money isn’t a factor.

My vote is to stay with what you have unless it's just beat to shit. Also why trade it in? I'm sure you could sell private party and get quite a bit more. If that isn't an option I'd say wait for the Pro.

I'm in a 2007 TRD-OR with only 45k miles on it. I'm deciding on $9k to make it "My truck", that is paid off, modded to my liking, or selling it and getting the TRD Pro. After the last couple weeks of researching parts and lifts, I'm thinking the Pro is the winner.

@Chad, the Pro is more than a grill. The Pro is lifted 2" with Eibach coils and all four corners have Bilstein reservoirs. That's a great start with all the added creature features. It's a bigger step for me than the OP though... I'm thinking the 1/2" front spacer like OME adds for the full 3" lift and either an AAL or set of Dakar leaf packs and you're already up to the 3" lift we've been shelling out $1k or more for... on the cheap!

Jim, I've reviewed up and down the Baja vs. the TRD Pro. I'm just waiting to hear what the Pro price will be... Toyota says it's going to be an "affordable" package... my question is to whom? ;) If the price is comparable to the Baja, I'm taking the Pro... better OEM installed options right away.

wait for 2016 redesign.... make choice then. Ull be kicking yourself if the 2016's come with a motor that gets better mpg than the current motor, and makes more power than the current motor supercharged. (all of which the 2GR-FSE does)

People have differing opinions on it, but I wouldn't buy a first model year vehicle. Someone has to take the plunge but it wouldn't be me.

    Let me help you:

The coils are not Eibach, they are Toyota coils, and the front shocks do not have reservoirs though the backs do.
