Actually overall in America it is a serious problem. Under President Regan most of the government run mental hospitals were closed and the resulting street problems were left to the LEO's to deal with. On average a policeman gets 2 hours of training a year on how to deal with citizens that have mental health issues.

I ran across an interesting article that was focused on inmate at Rikers, incarcerated for mental health issues, that was scalded to death when a guard put him in a hot shower for over an hour as punishment. It really is a sad state of affairs in America.

Guilty as charged. I just put a case of water, corona's, and cokes in the cooler this morning.

    Morning All:wave:...

Welcome B.B. to the thread. Great bunch on here.:D

Morning Mike, We'll have to work the beer runs into Tom's schedule. I figure with all he has going on, he might get a few minutes to sit down and relax:rolleyes:...maybe:D. How's the new tractor doing?

Morning Tom, You forgot the ice for the cooler!?!? lol:rofl:How are you doing? The mental health issue is a sad state of affairs with all these people living on the streets and in prisons. Many of our Veterans (look at the VA system now, more money is being spent on the hill looking into the problem then getting the funds to fix the problem:eek:) are living on the streets because they can't get the help they need. Priorities are in the wrong places in D.C. Enough rant...

Pics yet to come. Was going to put the final coat of sealant on the porch today but it is raining out.

Not funny Ken. I was asked to get beverages not ice. I assumed the ice was your task as OP of the thread. ;) :p :rofl::rofl:

I would rather lift a case than roll a keg and lift it into the cooler.

My dad had a kegerator that keep the beer cold and used CO2 for the pressure. When we sold off my parents home my brother took it. Glad it is his problem and not mine. I will add that I drink very little beer.

Fixing the problem is something we will never see in our lifetime unless major changes are made in D.C.

Social Security was always an imaginary funds - said to be 'set aside' - but was always paid out as with any other routine federal debt: from that year's tax revenues.

I always laugh when I hear about Social Security going broke. But them saying it does make me wonder why I never hear any mention of Welfare going broke. <g>

    Morning all:
    Welcome beebrain!

About time I got some coke in the cooler, I was getting thirsty. The beer is safe from me too!

No fishing last night and an early quit the night before, but the yard is starting to look much better now. Will do the trimming today, and then hopefully back to fishing! :D

YEA, and the timeframe! MABY, an average of 15 yrs. for a SS recipient who paid into a fund, VS 50+ yrs. for a welfare recipient who never paid a dime!
And then they have multiple offspring that also go on welfare.
    DON'T GET ME STARTED!!!!!

In the US most votes are bought and paid for - with taxpayers money. Pretty much everybody votes for the politician offering the best financial deal. So long as that is the system - nothing will change. The only possible hope is to never vote for an incumbent - but nobody wants to give up their free money.
