im gonna get on my dads plan soon and i want to get the 3gs but i think 199 is a little high if a new one comes out every year.. and the 3g is only like 50 bucks or something refurbed. i want the 3gs cuz its faster in every test.. but idk if i wanna shell out that much cash. i kinda think i wanna go big and just get a 16gig 3gs in white. what do you guys think?

Just get the 3G man. The only thing the 3G doesn't have is video capabilities and its a bit slower but its still fast. the newest software allows it to do pretty much everything the 3GS can do. Plus you have other things to spend money on right?

Umm, damn I thought this was a tacoma forum... not an apple one.

It's ok, I'd probably act this stupid if I smoked crack regularly or something...

Yeah this should be in the off topic forum. But no big deal.

I have the 3G and my wife has the 3GS. The 3GS is much faster and worth the extra money. The 3G will become outdated much more quickly.

There are great Apple forums that you can browse for more information like macrumors.com

    Cheers.

Get what you want! That way you won't be thinking after "oh I should have gotten that one".

I've had both, and the 3GS wins.

the 3G does not "pretty much have" what the 3GS has. The 3GS wins with:

X2 the speed (apps open much quicker and don't crash)
3.2 mp camera w/auto focus and brightness (this is a HUGE help)
    Video recording capabalities
    Voice control
    32GB
Comes in white as well in the lowest model
    Battery percentage
    Compass
    Olephobic screen

All of those features may not be appealing to you, but I am glad I got the new one. I use my friends' and others' every now and then, and it sucks because they all have the 3G. Every time I type, there's a delay. Switching from portrait to landscape takes forever. Yes, there will be a new model next year, but you can sell the 3GS to fund for the new one through an early upgrade (That's what I will be doing).

Like I always say, get the highest trim in ANYTHING (of course it has to be logical), or next time you see someone else that got somethin better, it's one of the worst feelings.

    I sell these everyday BTW.

I had AT&T once... about 350 dropped calls and zero coverage anywhere I went with 3 different phones. Never had issues on T-Mo. That was about 4 or 5 years ago I was on AT&T though. Depends on the area, but I've yet to have issues....

I ment more in terms of the phone, I prefer Android opposed to apple's locked down crap.

But get what you want, ultimately that's all that matters. I'd spend the extra cash on the 3gs just for the speed, I hate lag.
