Saw a guy I graduated with last year who was really fat (Not trying to be rude, only description I know) and I barely recognized him because he had lost ALL the weight. Dude looked like he could whoop up on me too!

Damn. I am assuming the first list is squats. I thought I could squat a lot...

Not too much for one day, but too much for one meal. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think the body can absorb more than about 30 grams at once, and you poop the rest out. Whey protein digestion = ~10g/hour, (Hence why I eat meals every three hours to try and gain weight) and casein protein ~6-8g/hour, which is why it's good to drink milk before bed.

Never heard of bro science; had to google it.

I researched and that's what I found. Like I said, I could be wrong.

Well it's not like it's going to be WORSE if you do end up getting too much protein.

(You know you are a geek when you start wanting to explain things using graphs of trigonometric functions...)

I pretty much 99% of the time refrain from telling anybody in the gym any advice because even if I'm pretty sure I'm right and could help them, I tell myself, "They have obviously had way more gym success than you so you have no business telling them how to workout". Of course, that only applies to people who, like I said, have had more success than me. So everyone.

The whole max protein thing is the biggest load of crap. There are numerous studies that debunk that. Most common ones have one group of people eating about 80% of their protein at one time, and the other group breaking it up throughout the day. No difference was found between the groups and their protein synthesis.

There are WAY too many factors to give a base number and apply it to all people. If you could only digest 10g of protein an hour, then a 240lb line backer would have to eat every hour, or 30 grams every 4 hours in order to hit 240g a day. Chances are he's consuming more then that anyway.

Hell, I did some military training where we only ate once or twice a day. Once a day would be at night and I guarantee there was more then 30g of protein in that serving. I also guarantee my body didn't line up the protein grams in a single file line, and close off absorption at 30grams.
When it was twice a day it was one meal right before bed, and one right when we woke up. (3 hours later). So thats 2 decent size meals within a 3 hour period. Once again I doubt it stopped absorption at the magical number. We were also humping around 100lbs on our back for countless miles, so our bodies needed everything it could get. Now, give the same diet to someone who weighs 95lbs and is in a wheel chair, then their needs are going to be completely different. So, throwing a number on maximum absorption is bro-science that keeps getting passed around. Usually through fitness magazines by someone with an exercise science degree.

Ask some of those strong men competitors how much they consume after their workouts. They are probably easily hitting triple digits within an hour after their workout. Or, go visit LBEB.com.

yep, food stays in body for hours, 30g per hours is actually a lot.

Haha. Don't take it personal. Nobody is attacking you. It's just always the same bro-science that seems to be circulating around. More so attacking the source of the bro-science then the people who here it.

Pretty much anything you hear in the gym, take it with a grain of salt. If you really are interested in it. Start googling. Chances are you aren't the only one who is curious about it, and there will probably be some smart people out there who have expanded on it.

    I don't hate Josh!

Googling is how I came to that conclusion! Ha I'm not that concerned with it, I'll just continue eating as much as I can, I have never been into fine-tuning my diet any further than "this vs that" when ordering. Thanks for the explanation, as I said, I am liable to be wrong. Besides, I get like 2 hours of interwebz/day tops with my new job and I use it all on researching suspension since that is upcoming.
