Yes definitely. I did after 50 miles and probably 100 miles and only one needed it. But for sure do it. The alternative is not good haha.

 

Thanks for the info, I'd forgotten to mention I have manual hubs, so wear on the CV's would probably be minimized.

Madjik, I dont have a camper shell for it, but I'd been looking at a lightweight frame to put a yakima on. But the kayaks/canoes are pretty light. Usually it is a grain tote or something once in a while that weighs it down, but that is once every 6 months maybe. The rest of the time its empty or has maybe 100lbs in the back, going over washboard or old desert roads, though not too fast. That kit looks like what I want, the kits I'd found on ARB or toytec were all heavy duty or 2-3" lift.

tom, the tire distance is about what I have on my stock one- hoping they will bring the 1KD to the US in the next few years and then I will attempt to "acquire" one out of a wreck, and upgrade tire size. At the moment I have a 3.42 rear end which doesn't seem to mix well with larger tires. But I like running 2200rpm on long road trips.

Yes, it is a water storage tank. Had a bunch of them to distribute to various wells and figured out setting one on a couple sheets of plywood worked pretty well.

Thanks everyone for the input. Here are some photos of my truck with the full OME suspension installed.

It has quite a bit of rake. From my understanding I can change the shackles and it should help a bit? If so, where can I find said shackles?

 

Did you add the AAL?

Looks good! It'll settle a bunch don't worry. I'd hold off on changing anything for a few thousand miles. My rear end settled a bunch. Added shackles a year later and it's got the stance I want now.

 

Here is some other pics along with some questions. This is the exhaust relocation bracket. From what I can tell all it does is push down the end of the exhaust.



After I installed the bracket it still seems to be rubbing on the leaf pack. Is that normal?



Has anyone changed out the muffler hangers to help with this? They seem to be holding the exhaust up.

 

I installed the "brake relocation valve bracket" is this all there is too it?

 

My solution- I cut off about 2 feet of the pipe

And finally I think I blew out a CV boot. Is this "fixable", or do I need to get a new one?

 

You can just cut the exhaust right after the axle. A lot of us did.

If you want the expensive solution, can get the Magnaflow catback kit. It re-routes between the pack and the frame.

time to replace the boot. Can be replaced with a $30 kit from Toyota and some basic hand tools.

Yeah I installed the AAL's on the rear springs and the front are 883s. The tires I have on now are 31x10.5x15, but I'm getting new ones delivered tomorrow so hopefully I'll have 33x10.5.15's on by Monday. I think someone described them as skateboard wheels Once I have them installed I'll post some new pics.

 

If you aren't planning on hauling a constant load of 200+ lb. in the bed, might want to take the AAL out.

 

I'm going with 881s, leafs + AAL.

And staying with the 31x10.5 r15s.

I hope my tires don't look silly under the lift. I run a topper so hopefully that brings the ass down a bit.

 

The funny thing about the CV boot is that it isn't torn. The grease seems to be coming out of the end of the boot.
