What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

In my old Cherokee it was a motor mount that went clunk on right hand turns from a stop, but it sounded like it was coming from rear axle between the leaf springs and tire. Your bushings could also be worn on the leaf springs and also check the sway bar front and rear (if applicable).

 

I should have mentioned that its stock suspension. Also, if that were the case, it would be bottoming out on the compression stroke.

 

What is this for? Is this just to light up the engine bay or what? I may have missed something haha

I hear ya. I would love to go with a SAS. But I make due with the mid travel and 35's. I ran 33's for a bit but the 35's work so much better off road than the 33's.

 

You guys with 3" and stock UCAs, how bad is the handling?

Didn't effect my handling at all, and it shouldn't.

It can be harder to get alignment into spec, but I haven't had any issues with bad bump steer or tire wear.

 

Are those American Racing?

 

No problem here. Though I have nothing to compare it to.

I lived with the wander and loose steering for a while but eventually got really tired of it. Its not a tire wear issue, its a driveability problem. If all you ever do is putput around town, you might not miss it but if you drive on the highway much at all, it will get old.

I just built one too, I'm not happy with how far it sticks out either. Mine is tucked as far back on top of the frame rails as I could put it, I even cut out the center support to give more clearance. I've got a bit more info in my build. I can take measurements tomorrow, send me a pm if you need them and what, so I don't forget.

Why so? Are they lagging? I sent them an email and pm about having some tube bent up, bumper hoop and some stuff for the rear, still haven't gotten a reply, business must be good. I can get it done locally by guys we work with but would be a lot easier to just get one of theirs.
