    None atm.
I ran a HAM radio in my Tundra, I just got my Tacoma on Monday and have yet to install the radio in it. I have yet to run with anyone that had one, most around here just use CB's. I used my for weather reports mostly.

Which HAM do you run with? I am installing a CB but I am looking into HAM also.

That's the dilemma I have. A HAM would give many benefits but no one runs them around here, only CB. I'm thinking about installing a CB antenna in place of my radio antenna then using a splitter so my radio can use the CB antenna. Biggest thing will be to get the SWR settings correct.

Check these guys out for better pricing.

And for even better boots look into Hanwag brand.

    Shit man thanks!

I want to get a pair for my bob. Once broken in they will get attached to it and stay there.

Since I am on the subject of bob's, have you guys seen the kryptek line of camo. I guess its been out for a minute, but I just saw it about 2 months ago. Pretty good camo for hunting or what ever you need it for. Pretty much makes you disappear.

Thought we were talking about boots, not ski's. Size 15, that's gotta be a tough fit to get right. I don't envy that search.

I bowhunt deer and bear in Kryptek Highlander and have a Kifaru ruck and a few pieces of kit in the pattern. My hunting partner tells me that he loses sight of me often in it while on the move and he has walked right past me in the woods while I was sitting still. With that said I wouldn't keep a cam pattern ruck in my truck full time just because of the deuchebags that would be even more inclined to pop a window to get at goodies. I keep an Arc'teryx Khard 30 in wolf grey in my truck that for the most part almost matches the interior fabric color which at a glance makes it invisible. Excellent quality bag that I can wear fully loaded for days without it rubbing, digging, pinching, or forcing poor posture. The bag wasn't inexpensive but unless it gets stolen I imagine that it will belong to my son once I'm gone.

To increase my odds of being able to hand it down to my son I use a Pacsafe cover to keep it secured to the rear base of the driver seat on the floor of the truck. It might be considered a bit over protective by some but I'm fond of my stuff staying mine. Your mileage may vary.

If I had to buy a new truck ruck and was also considering a cam pattern I'd probably order another Mystery Ranch or Kifaru ruck as I've worn their hunting rucks for years now and have never had a problem.

For Kryptek pattern rucks check the following in no particular order.

    http://www.mayflower-rc.org/
    http://www.atstacticalgear.com/cgi/commerce.cgi?display=home
    http://www.tenzingoutdoors.com/index.php

Apparently Slumberjack is getting in on it too...
    http://www.slumberjack.com/tacticalhuntinggear.aspx?cid=hp_flipper2_sjkpreview_041114

For those that are Multicam pattern enthusiasts expect to see favorable pricing soon from some vendors now that it's predecessor, the "Scorpion" pattern has been soft-launch adopted by the US Army.

I had those for several years, extremely comfortabls for my foot, great traction all conditions, but I wore through the outer sole on the toes long before the rest of the sole was done. REI gave me about 80% value back for a new pair (those days are over).

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this or not, but with all of the constant hiking if been doing I think I shousm get a GPS Garmin watch...one that say I can mark where I start at and it can take me back if needed..one with an elevation meter, weather conditions, etc etc...any recommendations?

Also, any weather stuff? I ask, b/c the wife and I got stuck in a 3 mile hike today through a thunderstorm, and we were drenched...

Currently, I carry a basic survival back pack (emerg shelter, radio, flashlight, food, water, first-aid, etc) knives, and a firearm with me...any other recommendations?

A lifestraw. For if you run out of water, very very light.

If all you are concerned about is an emergency kit while hiking, then don't overthink it.

A decent poncho can keep you dry and double as a lean to shelter. A quality knike like a USAF Survival or similar serves a multitude of purposes. Add a flashlight, IFAK and fire making stuff and you're about set for an emergency overnight. This is the bare minimum, you may not be comfortable but the essentials are met in a very small, lightweight kit.

For me and in no particular order is water, fire, first aid and clothing. For water, a camelback with an extra bottle of water with purification tabs. With fire, I carry a magnesium firestarter and vaseline cotton balls. First aid is an IFAK with bandaids, TK and splinting supplies. Clothing is solely dependent on the season but I always pack one extra day's worth of clothes.

Look up how to make a marine skivy roll. I use them when camping it's awesome. I learned to roll my clothes in the army but the skivy is much more useful IMO

There are very few places in the continental US that a NOAA Weather Radio doesn't work. You can get a very small lightweight radio for around $10. My wife has a wind up one in her BOB that also has a built in LED flashlight. This is the best way to get the weather in the backcountry, as it is updated every hour. There isn't an app out there that compares to a live NWR broadcast coverage area. Also, in the event of any major catastrophe you will get updated news on it. 'Course, I might be biased. (I'm a NWR tech)

As far as the GPS... go old school. Get a map of the area with elevation benchmarks. A GPS is nice, but is just a secondary. Primary is always a paper map and compass. I know, I know...but then you have to carry a backpack. It's amazing what you can fit in a small camelback hydration system.
