Are you afraid of having to get it aligned? You will anyways because lowering the preload changes where the arms sit at ride height and you will cambered out.

 

yeah I know...I'm just scurred... and partially just being lazy...I figure the fewer bolts I have to loosen the less I can screw up.


Ok so speaking of alignments, lets say I get the lifetime alignment from firestone now that I have aftermarket suspension...and lets say later on down the road I upgrade to Icons or something, would they still honor the lifetime alignment thing even though I'm not technically on the same suspension as I was when I purchased the lifetime alignments?

 

Nah you'll be fine. Just try not losten them too much and you can keep your alignment cams where they are. It's just to relive the pressure holding the LCA mounts to the truck so it can droop all the way.

As for the alignments, they will honor it. They have no record of what suspension you have on your truck. Seen it done many times

 

Thanks, dude. Maybe I'll give it another go tonight. The only reason why I'm thinking of going the spring compressor route is because I have to do this twice each side. I got some used 5100's already set with an OEM coil and only set on the second mark. Wanted to take off the existing coils, set the shocks to full height then put on my OEM coils since I know where they've been and what they've been through.

dude, that sucks. that happened to my stepdads Tacoma too a year or so ago. Damn thieves...I wonder why someone doesn't make a skid plate that covers that area to help make it harder for them to steal it.

 

If you guys want a really good alignment with offroad suspension, go to Daves Frame and Alignment in Huntington Beach. He aligns all of camburgs trucks and uses actual alignment tools no computers. He has a bunch of reviews in yelp. All 5 stars, pretty impressive.

The Firestone in Chino Hills has a tech named Jeffrwy Sammis and he does alignment on lifted trucks all the time. He knows how to adjust your uppers and everything correctly to get it straight. Only tech that has ever aligned my truck prefectly every time the first time. They honor the lifetime alignment even with modifications.

I suppose this is the problem with being active in a thread for an area I live nowhere near. Would've asked in 805 thread but they're all hours away from me too...and never really give me any helpful responses.
