Wouldn't adding more weight below the trucks current cg in turn lower it? Meaning if you want to lower the trucks cg, add heavy shit low.

Hybrid front bumper (brute force fab) > plate (only relentless & elite though) > tube.

I'm go fast longtravel so lil different then u guys, but my aluminum skids have some nasty gouges in it from rocks. I hit the dunes mostly and occasional dez or river bottom runs, in which everytime I hit the latter I get some bad gouges. Aluminum is just to soft for any trail use, almost to soft for my use.

    Interesting.

People on here can judge density/hardness of metal all they want, but unless they've actually put it through it's paces you can't really prove how well it'll handle off roading.

Thanks for giving some real world experience

I got some reasons to get a 4x innovations rear bumper with swing out and jerry can holders.

You guys have already convinced yourselves that aluminum is the way to go so why discuss it? There is plenty of evidence supporting the use of steel. Doesn't mean steel is the only answer, but there's a reason it's most common answer.

Everyone can choose for themselves what they want to do/use/build, whatever.

Just a note whenever you buy your Al sheet...those skids on the jeep were 5/16" thick.

more lights! used some billet clamps. Bit pricey but could not figure another way to mount the lights without them hitting the grill or the light bar.

Aluminum is to soft for a skid. Yes it will protect your underside but everytime you drag it across the rocks youre going to be taking chuncks out of it. I work with aluminum everyday amd ive put my fair share of gouges in sheets with out even trying, now put 4000lbs on top of the sheet and drag it across the tip of a rock

3" lift EIBACH coils w/ 5100's front, OME/ Dakar leaf springs w/ toytec adjustable shackles at 1.5" and 5125's out back. 33x10.5x15 KM2's Relentless DIY steel bumper.
Replaced the driver side lower ball joint, but after pulling it out it was actually still good. I have the lifetime warranty so I replaced it for free anyway.

Also while connecting the tie rod to the LBJ the threaded rod must have broke inside the boot because when I tried to tighten the castle nut the threads kept spinning. So I went ahead and replaced the outer tie rod as well. Both were easy jobs and took about hour to do, at most.

The clicking/ popping sound I was trying to fix was still there. So after more searching and with the help of my brother I found out the clicking sound is comming from the brake dust shield. Whenever I make a right turn is when the sound appears. Thinking about removing the dust shield but jot sure if I should?

I had a horrible sound come from my drivers side today when I drove over a curb, and ive been getting a clunking noise in the mornings when I first turn to the left after letting the truck sit for a while. Its odd that none of the sounds are consistent

Bought the same stuff except for the poly bushings and UCA's... Haha

Debating on whether or not to get some poly bushings as well. But surprisingly my oem bushings don't seem to have a lot of play in them. Trying to get as much of the play out of my steering as possible. It's pretty loose right now haha

    Moog from RockAuto

If you can afford OEM, great. My current lower OEM's only lasted 40,000 miles so I'm not too impressed.

I think it has a lot do with the fact that my alignment is out of spec because of the seized nut on the passenger side
