    Hello!
I was wondering if there are any Tacomas 08 with hood scoop, excluding the X-Runner. Maybe a stupid question, but I noticed that the configurator at Toyota.com does not give such option. The reason for asking is that I am about to buy Tacoma and would prefer it to be with a hood scoop.
    Thank you!

You can definitely get Tacomas with hood scoops other than X-Runners.

All TRD Sports have them. You can only have them on a TRD Sport unless you buy a new hood and scoop from Toyota as a replacement and that will run you upwards of $600.

Welcome to the site. As other's have said, it is only available on the TRD Sport or as an aftermarket piece. You should also know that it is for looks only and is not functional.

Yes, I know that it is not functional, but it's got the look. Unfortunately, the TRD package is quite expensive and I am afraid that I'm going to have to go without the hood scoop. It would've been good to have it, but it is not a big deal if I don't.

I regret not getting the TRD. I'd love some better seats and that sweet looking hood scoop.

I have the hood scoop and could have done without it. It's a pain to get up there and clean (i'm short and fat). Maybe when I get a bug shield it will be better. Anybody know of good prices for them? I have been on other threads and have seen the aero and TRD ones (won't buy TRD though).

Thought you had the hook-up for a $300 installed and painted scoop?

    Thanks, guys!
I agree- the TRD option is pretty attractive, but it costs about $4600( toyota.com). Actually, I am confused a bit, because according carsdirect.com( http://www.carsdirect.com/build/options?zipcode=89118&acode=USB80TOT092B0&restore=false ) there is something like TRD package for about $1500, but it seems to include only wheels, tires and rear differential upgrades. I am puzzled, because Carsdirect.com offers many ways to upgrade a Tacoma, which are missing at toyota.com. It would be nice if it is possible to get a hood scoop for $1500. I know, it is just a detail, but it gives a different look to the truck.

you also get a front color matched grill(the chrome part) and whatever else the sport comes with, if not just get your base taco and buy a hood

Are you kidding! I would kill myself getting that fucker off, then I would have to find some way to ship it. After all that I would have to put your on, killing my rollie pollie lookin a$$. Im fat for a reason, I don't know the entire reason but I'm sure its a good one (probably just beer).

THEN people would wonder why I have a sport with no scoop.

:D I'll just pick up a bug deflector and hope it does the trick or take it to the car wash.
