Calling all Virginians (Tidewater area)

We did two dives today, just refreshing skills and doing equipment check-out. Doing some wreck dives down in NC in a few weeks and needed a quick brush up.

No hiking here just the quarry. Kind of hectic with all the different dive shops here doing classes though.

 

Is it a good place to go to kayak and relax around the campsite for a weekend?

 

Damn, I need a scuba refresher it's been 1 1/2 years since I did Deep open water!!

 

For kayaking it wouldn't be my thing as it's only probably about a 60 acre lake and you can't fish in it. Relaxing around the campsite not bad.

Check out Pocahontas State Park in Chesterfield, sounds more like what you want.

I haven't dove since last July, needed a brush up before dropping down 115'.

 

Yea I'm planning on a scuba trip in July to NC coast, hopefully get a few hours in at least. So much fun, last year I went to Turks and Caicos and it was unbelievable, dove everyday for 2 hours a day, beautiful.

 

Check out Olympus Dive Center, that's who we're using. Seem like they're out together.

Fiancé and I looking at going to Bonaire for our honeymoon!

 

That'll be awesome, my wife didn't dive with me she's a pussy, Bonaire would be a blast to do as a couple.

 

As long as I can keep this one warm she's happy. Dropped down to 55' today and it was about 58*. We hung out there for about 5 minutes and that was it.

 

Damn that's a little chilly! What I loved about Turks, dove to 110', I was in shorts and a t shirt and stayed for 10 minutes without a prob. I would dive their every year if I could afford it

 

Yeah I was pretty damn cold too. The first dive today I went without hood or gloves and couldn't push past 30' at 62*.

I'm hoping Bonaire will be like that, be nice to not have to pack a wetsuit.

 

It's awesome to wake up, put on swimming trunks and a shirt and hop on the boat, check your gear, and just enjoy the ride without a tight ass wet suit!

Screw that sub 70 temp

SO BIG NIGHT HERE:

My daughters and grandson were out off Battlefield Blvd when a 2nd gen Silver Tacoma side swiped them and drove off. They lost him in traffic and didn't get a plate #. All 3 are well... but Mr. Drunk Driver was found by Chesapeake's Finest within 30 minutes and is now having a bad night.

If they didn't catch im, I was going to post and ask ya'll to check the Taco's you know for gold paint down the drivers side! Yes, Kyle's Gold Scion... and she's not happy... but she is not hurt so all is good.

 

Dang that sucks. . At least everyone is alright

Ordered some weld on SOS concepts sliders, it'll be a while before they come in but i was wondering if anyone could weld them on for me or could recommend a shop to do it. Obviously I would be willing to pay someone to do it, any help is much appreciated!
