extended gas tanks

I'd really like to put something like this:

in my 2013 Taco. I hate the puny gas tank I have and really want a longer range one. Any suggestions? (the link is to a Tundra extended range tank)

I'm working on something like this with a local fab shop. Since nobody offers anything like this for Tacoma's I guess it's time to go custom!

I will keep everyone posted on the progress. The tank is a cake walk, the real challenge will be the fill & transfer systems.

Current plan is an aluminum tank, and a steel skid plate to prevent blowing myself up when I bump a rock.

 

Slap a 50 gallon drum in the bed and you can drive cross country on a single fill up

Talking about gas tank, I'm getting annoyed that i only get 300 Miles with my tank -_-

 

If it makes you feel better I only get about 275 before i have to fill up. I am stock also.

 

275? I'm at 275 on my current tank and still have 1/4 tank to go. Should be able to get another 75 before fill-up, I hope.

 

Long Range Automotive out of Austrailia makes a 33 gallon tank for the Tacoma that replaces your original tank. Outback Proven is the US distributor for them.

Shit, 71.1 gallons will only get me 1000 miles. I'd need to fill that drum up a few times to go x-country!
