Jacked the front of the truck up and messed with the front end to try and see if I could figure out whether or not my wheel bearings are going bad.

    No play in the hubs.

No grinding noises when turning by hand. Passenger side was noticeably harder to turn by hand.

No marks on the wheels or brakes that are out of the ordinary.

Now I don't really know anything about brakes, so I'm just going to throw these photos up here in case anything looks out of the ordinary.... Haha

Thanks in advance for any help!

Building new spring hangers to go back to stock. Going to drill some holes for plug welds as well as box the whole front and some of the rear of the hangers

Edit: Can someone with a 98-04 measure from the center of the center pin to the center of the front spring eye so I can get the hangers back in the stock location?

Pads look fine. Where the pads and rotors installed at the same time? If so, the rotors are probably fine as well. You can check the rotors by running your finger across the surface and checking for grooves as well as a lip on the outer edge.

No idea. I haven't touched anything on the brakes since I bought it 15,000 miles ago.

If I remember correctly the previous owner had brakes replaced at around 90,000.

No grooves or anything on the rotors.

Probably just going to take it to a shop on Tuesday morning to see what they can diagnose. Might just replace the wheel bearings and see if that fixes the roaring noise.

    Look at build!
Well when the new one showed up I put it up beside my radiator that came out and bam, same size.. wtf so im guessing my uncle before I got the truck had changed it at some point and a 2.7 one was put OR I was sent the wrong radiator but who knows.. Second when put into its factory spot the fins on the side of the radiator for the bolt on bracket would hit the steering box, no big deal, just trimmed em up and walla until I got it to fit all the way down and it hit my front spring hangers, likely due to the fact that I frenched the hangers about 1" into the frame thus not letting it sit far enough down.. and to cap It off the radiator still sat below my crossmember which I didn't like anyway so a buddy donated this one to me to try and see how it would do but so far it seems to cool just fine even after I let it sit and idle for around 30 minutes

It's not as time consuming or difficult like I thought it would be. Took me about an hr total. Then I let the epoxy sit over night and they were ready to use the next morning (8 hrs later)

-cut the mounting bracket off old blinkers - 15 minutes
-cut hole in both side marker/ light - 30 minutes (total)
-epoxy brackets on side marker lights - 15 minutes

    Let Sit over night.

^ this is kinda how it went for me so it's just my example. I'd recommend it if your gonna get an aftermarket bumper or turn the old blinkers into fogs

Not really sure with these types of single bearing hubs (the bearing is about 3" wide..) My pass. side went out with no sign of impending failure, was just rolling out of driveway & rolled over a small speed bump & FLOP/GRIND , tha was it, limped back into carport & done...:confused:
