How was rose garden hill going up? You did all of Kokopelli going back to CO? I'm seriously thinking about trying that to get home when I go in a couple weeks.

No, I did all of the Kokopelli on the way to Moab and went down Rose Garden Hill. Started at the trailhead in Loma Wednesday morning and got into Moab Thursday afternoon.

Going up Rose Garden Hill would be really challenging. You could get up but it probably wouldn't be smooth. Lots of smashing skids and stacking rocks, and even then nothing really to winch to if you have any problems. I'll try to get my video up here soon if that helps. Lots of big rock, not your typical Moab ledges, and endless loose rocks and sandy dirt.

BTW, I followed this guys write up, being there's really not much info on doing this trail with a vehicle. The couple single track sections you have to bypass takes a little work.

    http://www.myxj.net/blog/kokopelli-4x4-trail/

After doing the trail though, I was thinking about typing up a quick elaboration to this write up. I spent a lot of time of time looking at my maps and trying to figure out all the turns. I'm not fancy enough for that GPS crap, but my National Geographic maps were very helpful. I used #208 Colorado National Monument, and #500 Moab North.

Probably me but that's no dirt...

It's some kind of super cement that I don't think will ever come off.

The "car wash" obstacle is inappropriately named.

Enough to make it a lot of fun!
You should go look at the brand new tundra Pedersen's got here in Fort Collins. Its pretty nice except that its 20" rims. They also got an almost identical Tacoma sitting on the other side of the lot.

Some of you know my boy, Cole, from local wheeling trips. I had to hurry home from Moab so I could make it to his football game this afternoon.
So pretty early in the game he catches a cleat to the face. There's blood all over the place, mommy's freaking out, he's going to have a heck of a shiner, but he still wants to play.
The coaches wife must have some sort of medical background. She's got him doing stupid human tricks, counting fingers, the usual.
I asked him "what's the capital of Saskatchewan?"

    He says "S"

I said "put him in, he's good to go"

In the fall I'll probably do the Kokopelli trail on my bike. Rose Garden Hill looks like fun. :D
