So yesterday, the father-in-law, brother-in-law and I went fishing and we took my father-in-law's '87 Toyota pickup and, on the way out of our fishing hole, the fucking rear bumper broke in half with the john boat attached. Luckily, we were on a dirt road and only going like 10 mph. Anyway, we had to leave my father-in-law there with the boat in the pouring down rain while we went and exchanged his truck for mine. Now, to the point: he's in need of a rear bumper, so I told him that this was the perfect excuse for me to splurge on one and he could have my stock one, which I'm sure will mount to the '87's frame. If not, some welding equipment and a BFH will get it done. Now, I've just got to decide which one to get...I'm leaning towards All-Pro's

The rear plate bumper made by chad (bash fab?) is one of my favorites and price is nice. Or CBI if you have the $

Yeah, I love Chad's bumpers. I've got a TG front tube bumper, so I'm getting a tube for the rear. Chad makes a good tube hybrid for the rear, so I'm considering his, too

I'll be getting the 4x innovations bumper for four reasons:
    1. it looks good to me
    2. I haven't heard anything bad about his wait times or customer service
    3. it has side protection
    4. the receiver is rated as a class 3 hitch.

The price is also very competitive.

Not to try and persuade you, but the TG rear bumper is $118 cheaper, looks similar, and is a class 4 hitch

If i were on the market for a rear tube bumper All-Pro would most likely be my choice as well. I'm in the plate bumper game now so i've been leaning towards a CBI with a swingout when i hit the non-existent lotto in wyoming.

This thread is to help people who are looking to buy a bumper. Kinda hard to buy a bumper whose manufacturer doesn't exist anymore lol

It is a good looking bumper, though

    :spy:

I will be making a for sale thread for sliders and bumpers soon hopefully, I just need to figure out how I want to word everything and build a few more products I have in mind to get a little more out there.. but just wanted to let you know too that my Rock slider prices have dropped a decent amount and the bumper prices should drop some as well, I just need to sit down and price it but if you are interested let me know via PM and ill work something out for you!.. also keep in mine I use only DOM tubing now as well

I think it's cool for others to add stuff like that though since people might be looking at design ideas.

 Haven't you done a PreRunner to 4wd swap before? I plan on doing this in the next year or two, but have no clue what to do. If I drive to SC for a bumper, I was gonna see if you could maybe do a bundle price and help me with that shit.

    Good idear

For sho! Last time you weren't ready..
Say the word and we'll make it happen!

    Package deals for err body!!

Yea ive got a 4wd and a SAS under my belt now lol Id for sure be down to help ya out though! its not too bad, 3/4 of the battle is swapping transmissions which isn't as bad as one would think, even after doing it on the ground in the driveway. once that's done its just a matter of basically replacing spindles and slapping axles in which is a no brainer since everything is out already. Too bad ive already sold all my ifs stuff for the most part

I'm still in the collecting parts phase. Did y'all put locking hubs on it? If I get all the parts, I'll definitely make a trip up there for a bumper/4wd install combo!

Cool deal! & yes we did manual hubs. the ttrans is the worst part. We started around 10am and took a good 2 hour lunch break then another random break to inspect a heep and finished up and test drove around midnight

Awesome. Yeah, the trans is the part I'm most scared of messing with. I just don't wanna start it up and everything fall apart as soon as I put it in gear. I wanna do manual hubs, as well. I don't trust all that auto-lock bullcrap

Never had an issue with the ADD hubs on mine lol but yea manual hubs for simplicity! and you wont have an issue with the trans.. fwiw I worked in the automotive field for a few years before I picked up welding, done my fair share of transissions to include my own... twice and now an Auto for the last swap.. I don't believe it will be an issue.. the hardest part was not having a trans jack and using a regular floor jack and having to maneuver it around under the truck, its also a little easier when putting the new one in to do the trans and tcase seperatly

Never heard of there even being issues with ADD hubs?

Other than increased wear and minimal mpg loss.
