..from a 2014 4x2 mag grey platinum crewmax Tundra to a 2014 silver DCSB sr5 prerunner.

Economical for me going from owing around 50k to 25k as work is slow. I have to say I like the taco (first one) but miss the room of the Tundy.

Best thing is a lot less 'fluff' gadgets to break in the future on the taco.

    Congrats...???

I would not call it a "step down" and I sure would NOT like the dealer that some how got you to finance $50k on a 2 wheel drive Tundra.

    You'll like the Tacoma.

Yeah went from full size to Tacoma .. miss the room but a lot easier to maneuver and park !!

I'm 6'2 so it's a little cramped, one thing I don't like is the seats. Well, not the seats so much as the headrest.

If put the seat up at 90 degree the headrest push head forward (bad posture) so I have to lean seat way back and kind of sit forward so my head can stay in a non lurch position.

    Thanks.

Yeah, the Platinum are crazy priced (even worse in Canada) and the taxes here in Cali push the total to stupid town.

Very first midsize for me, so it's just taking some getting used to. Can't stand cars, way to low and hate squatting in and out.

One thing I liked about the Tundra is it's built in San Antonio while my Taco was built in Baja (mexico)..thought it would be built in Texas too ?!

Hahaha, a "step" down huh, ok hopefully your tacoma wont turn into a prius overnight...wow & whats really funny is your reference to being built in mexico, dude you're in San Antonio theres about a gnats ass difference between where your at & ol' mexico...

It'd be like me saying the same thing except I'm in San Diego, still only about 25 miles from that mexico place.....

& welcome to TW BTW & theres a Tundra sub forum here if you get home sick ...;)

Thanks. I'm in Cali not Texas .. still would rather be built in merica cuz the economy f'king blows ..no way anyone in SoCal will ever own these overpriced homes but I guess carrying a huge loan is the new cali normal.

Is the Tacoma suspect to the dreaded AIP problems that the Tundra has ?

I actually really like the body lines better on the taco and easier to do oil changes/maint.

Not familiar with the AIP issue you speak of with the Tundra, but don't fear the 2nd gen Tacomas have their own bugaboos/issues as well, ya know, theres more Toyotas built here (U.S.) than Ford Or Chevy trucks are ... (dont quote me, not sure if thats true but wouldn't surprise me)

I think you'll like the Tacoma once you get used to the down sizing you've made, good creature comforts, decent power for a V6, & honestly, a lot of fun to drive, not as much fun as my 1st gen, but fun....

Right on 4WD .. one thing I love is I can now wash the truck in 20 min without having to get a ladder for the roof !! Tundra is a boat, feels like forever just to do one side.

Composite bed is nice too, don't get me wrong ..this IS a nice machine !

Agree. Last two trucks were dark grey, just lightened it up a bit with the Silver which looks sharp and a little easier to keep clean/hide dirt.
