    Mauricio went from BFG M/T's (255/85r16) to BFG A/T's (285/75r16).

    What type of Nittos are you running & why don't you like them?

    I have the terra graps. Came on the truck. I guess they are alright.
    They do break loose on wet road a little but that could be the higher torque than the Yota.
    Just not a fan on how they look either, which is lame to say. Was always attached to my BFG KM2s

    Yes, your truck has monster torque compared to ours. Sometimes I've seen diesel trucks spin their tires slightly on wet roads & you can tell it wasn't intentional because the driver immediately takes his foot off the gas.

    I was curious because I am looking to go 285/70r17 in BFG AT or Nitto Trail Grappler. I like the look & good reviews of the Trail Grappler but I've NEVER had a complaint with the 2 sets of BFG AT's that I've owned so it's a tough decision. Plus, the Nittos weigh about 10lbs more each tire. On a mid-size truck that came with P265/70r16 (40 lbs a average), then going to LT285/70r17 (E, 59 lbs) is huge. The Nitto Trail Graps are 68 lbs!

    And it looks like I will be. Here's where I stand with this:

    BFG PROS:

    * I've NEVER had a problem with them & these are my 2nd set.

    * I was telling mouse007 yesterday, when he went to my store, that people always assume that my truck rides rough & vibrates..... until they ride in it. They are surprised at how smooth & quiet they are at all speeds. They have a slight hum but very slight & I like that.

    * I get a "once a year" extra incentive + employee discount through my job when I buy a Michelin product. Ex: I paid $700 for my current tires last October. If I wait until October this year I can get that extra incentive & pay about $780 for 4 new 285/70r17's

    * If I decide to go with black wall I can get the BFG AT in "D" load range (56lbs) vs the same tire in "E" 59 lbs. Still 10 lbs less than the Nitto.

    * New BFG redesign (either end of this year or beginning of next). They already have a DOT # so they WILL go into production. Like you mentioned before, it looks like they got some ques from the Duratrac but even better, it's a BFG:

    BFG CONS:
    none.

    NITTO TERRA GRAPPLER PROS:
    * Good looking tire also.

    * Tread design looks like it may have better traction in mud. Will I notice the difference? Probably not. I'm still 2WD & I think I've done pretty good so far for my set-up.

    CONS:
    * Weight.

    * Not available in white wall (not a big deal, especially after seeing mouse truck yesterday & the times I have to clean the white letters due to scuff marks).

    * A chance that I may regret switching from BFG's to these.

    Nice looking wheel for OEM. I like the look of the tire also. It's funny how people percieve certain tires. Everytime I sell these on SUV's people first worry that these tires will make noise. It takes a lot of convincing on my part before they make the purchase.

    I don't notice road noise at all....but when the turbo spools, not much else can be heard lol
    But no noticeable noise or hum when coasting. I liked the KM2's road noise. Gives it character.

    You have the Terra Grapplers. Those are super quiet. Quieter than the BFG AT. It's the Trail Grappler that may be more noisey. People who have the trails say they are quiet for an MT tire.

    Got the recall taken care of on my truck today. Traction control and A-LSD is much more responsive now.

    How did you test it? Burnouts and fast corners?

    Kinda...it's wet out. Played a little. Used to vibrate and pulse a lot, but not do anything really...now it's pretty easy to get the back end out with the A-LSD on and VSC off...

    Mine is mechanical.
    [IMG]
    Yours is controlled by the computer applying the rear brakes at different pressures so that both rear wheels get almost equal traction, correct?

    Pretty much. It uses ABS pulsation on the tire that's spinning more to "transfer" traction. ATRAC is basically a stronger version of that.

    This...I'm sure the ALSD is cheaper to make and sounds more technical, so they can charge more for it. Lol
