Enough to make it a lot of fun!
I had a 2004 4runner sport edition with the v8 before i bought my Tacoma earlier this year. It got close to 20 mpg between city and highway miles so they are actually not that bad on mileage that i found.

The new tacomas are like a hot country girl who can get all dressed up, but ain't afraid to hang with the boys. The new jeeps are like the city girl who comes to the country and tries to impress the boys. That's how I see it lol

Some of the Jeeps at work we got 6 MPG. They had the HEMI engines and spend a lot of time idling on construction sites to keep the AC going :D.
Even with not doing the idling thing, I only got about 16 MPG with the one that I was driving as a DD. Company paid for gas, so I did not really care. The HEMI was nice though....
