If you are thinking that you might upgrade down the road then just spend the extra cash and get what you want to begin with.

Pretty much my philosophy when I bought mine...

And yeah, 4x4 is worth the cost. Even if you only use it when you NEED it, then its paid for itself imo.

When I was at the dealership I informed that it's a requirement to own a Tacoma. I was put through a rigorous jackass test before they would let me take her off the lot.

Some may view this as bad or reckess advise, so before i continue, i'll say that before doing anything, you should alway thuroughly plan and think through what you are about to do to any vehicle.

tha being said, my piece of advise would be that nothing is irreversable or permanent. it may be expensive, but there is nothing that can't be fixed, or effectively brough back to normal. It could be as simple as turning a few bolts, or as difficult/expensive as buying a new motor or body panel. But the real fun (for me at least) is in the innovation, trying something that no one else has tied, or experimenting with parts that aren't saved in every tacoma owner's "favorites" tab. So in simple terms, my advise is to just get out there and try things. start with what you are comfortable with, but keep pushing yourself. the end result will be a whole lot of knowledge and confidence, and most likely, i pretty cool/functional truck.

If you're not having fun, you're doing it wrong, now have at it
