    How's everyone setting up their rear shocks? I already have bump stops setup and droop strapped. I cycled it with the leaf pack broken apart and get the shocks intersection point between droop and bump. My concern is the shock has about a 5 degree incline which seems really wild for a 14" shock with the suspension setup for 16.5" of travel.

    The axle moves to the rear as the springs flatten out at full bump. The opposite also holds true, at full droop the wheel base shortens some. This accounts for the "extra" travel. I have 18" shocks perfectly vertical and get almost 20" of travel, although I strap it at less. I don't subscribe to the intersection point theory. It is a good guide and "safe advice" but the shock will do the least amount of work in a vertical position, and be easier to tune. The problem is that most guys don't want monster truck sized shocks poking out of their bed, and end up with shorter shocks laid over a tad. What kind of springs do you have?

    LSK Race Kit, King Shocks, Methods, Glassworks, Baja Designs, Built by myself.
    I set mine up to bump set the shocks forward about 10 degrees. Ended up being great. Got about 18" of travel or so out of the 16" shock.

    It would be super tight. In my 2nd gen, its going to be pretty tight to fit a 3/4 seat in the center rear when the time comes.

    Bonzen's first gen has three seats. The rear is a small. Fits great. I've sat back there as a joke.

    Set your shocks as vertical as possible at full stuff, 90* off the axle as outboard as possible, and see if you can hit full droop without the shock reaching full extension. I bet it will be close. If it is, then set your straps a little on the tight side (they will stretch with the weight of the axle) and run it.

    Exactly. The shock static installed angle really does not matter. What you want is the shock to approach the 90 degree angle at full compression.
