A box? Or a blankie with flowers on it?

    ...
Ok. Comments like this make me feel ridiculously rural. :anonymous:
When the power goes out, I don't notice a difference in the local noise level. Maybe it even goes up? Neighbors running generators and all that...

Have you seen 4crawlers writeup on how to change the chain/ tensioner without removing the head?

    http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTricks/EngineMods/TimingChain.shtml

That should save you the trouble of removing the head/ having to deck it etc..

When the power goes out at my place, it's weird. You go from hearing conveyors, forklifts, transporters, compactors, etc. Then suddenly it's silent and so dark can't even see yours hands.

No power loss at the warehouse I work at; we've got a standby generator (big Caterpillar diesel unit) for when the power craps here. Something to do with fire code and having to be able to keep the fire pump running even if the power cuts. We've got roughly 35,000 tires on the shelves here, so they want to make sure we can keep a fire smothered even if there's no electricty.

Just got back from a week camping in Watkins Glen State Park (N.Y.) then a few days up at Niagara Falls on the Canadian side. Pretty awesome but not too surprisingly, the whole touristy nature of Niagara made it less than special. Watkins Glen was a beautiful place and I would highly recommend it to anyone who like an easy hike.

We have a few things that run off of backup power, such as a few lights, and access to the doors. We normally don't lose power for long, unless someone whacks a pole. When hurricane Sandy (or Irene?) knocked out power for a few days, we had a couple box truck size generators brought in.

New Englanders.......If anyone is considering lift items or knows of someone looking, I am selling my brand new stuff in the 2nd gen & wheels marketplaces. Konigs/Duratracs/LR UCA's/884's and Nitrochargers front and rear. UCA's are NIB and all other parts have 500 miles on them. Abandoning the project. Would love to sell them locally. Thanks for listening :(
