Did you get pictures of the paraffin wax? Should be interesting to see. Wonder if it's similar to an existing off-the-shelf product like Aimsoil HDMP.

Well I poked around my frame the other day and its worse than I thought, especially on the right rear side close to the muffler. As usual, the photo's didn't capture everything.

Section near the muffler, you can see that the rust has penetrated all layers of steel:

Needless to say, I'm hoping for a frame replacement...

So I was not able find a good shot of the paraffin treatment for inside the frame.
I will give another look this weekend but no obvious shots that showed location and texture of paraffin. Suggestions on where to shoot?

Try taking a picture right where the boxed section goes to "C" channel, around the driver/passenger doors. The frame is open there and you should be able to position your phone to snap a shot of the inside up to the point where the frame turns in toward the motor.

Just got word back from IRA in Danvers on my 2006, frame showed perforation, which when I was under it, I couldn't see. Pics were sent off to Toyota which they approved, new frame will be ordered today. Any ideas what would be "replaced" on this type of venture? Both my leaf springs were broken (I had planned on replacing them right before I got this notice, but figured get the recall done first), but tech said leaf springs would not be replaced as part of the frame replacement.....

I was at my local dealer today (Colonial Toyota Smithfield RI), to have a frame inspection done, so I could possibly get reimbursed for my coating (but more on that in my thread). Well I was talking to the mechanic (Todd) that looked over my truck (and allowed me and my dad to check out my truck while it was on the lift), and I was able to get information on the frame coating process used. I didn't see this information posted before, but they are supposed to take the beds off the trucks, just like the previous Tacoma's and Tundra's. The CRC coating has not changed from the last trucks either. They also give a plug kit per truck, to plug up most of the holes in the front part of the frame (the kit has 28 plugs total!). He also told us that he has replaced 6 2nd gen frames in total so far, and has 5 trucks waiting to have the coating put on.

    For Canadians!!!:

Just got off the phone with Tony Graham(dealer, not the guy) in Ottawa and they confirmed that Toyota WILL be extending this to Canada within the next few months. They've been doing this on the Tundras already and they said 99% of them just the coating is required so we may simply get lucky and just need a coating.

Either way looks like Toyota WILL be helping Canadians.

Front control arms, bump stops, brake lines, leaf springs, spare tire carrier, a bunch of hardware, frame wire harness and speed sensors for the front I believe.

That's great news. Hopefully they don't wait too long to extend this to Canada. I do hope this is more than a band-aid solution.

Sounds like they are good to deal with. The only time I've stopped in there, I was inquiring about the supercharger. They've never installed one, but were eager to try.

Thats what I did 4 years ago... Covered those holes in the frame and it slowed rust progress significantly.
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/128974-winter-trick-help-protect-frame.html

I would suggest everybody do the same thing regardless were they are, or ask Toyota for the plugs.

I bet that frame plug kit is next to impossible to get unless you're in a recall state.

How much prep work is required to get that aluminum tape to stick to the frame without coming off? I would be wary of spraying down that section of the frame and then plugging it off.
