    you always want to drive from the middle of your foot, people only say drive through the heels for beginner to get use to ham and glute activation.

    knees in front of your foot is better for lumbar, less likely to get hurt, knees inline with foot you have better hip and ham drive, and you feel stronger because your lower back is helping on the way up, hence why most elite powerlifters are low bar squatters.

    Driving through your heals insures they wont come up, cause it they do, youll have 2 opposite twisting forces on your knee ligaments with your tibia going on way and your femur going the other.

    What advantage does the mid foot give?

    Agreed. If you weren't sure though. You would want to at the very least make sure you don't lean forward.

    Sorry it very hard to explain form by words but if you look like the guy in my pic above your doing good. Your quads should feel it more then anything else and make sure to keep your back straight

    When you squat no matter what style you do, bar is always over the middle of your foot, from start to finish, as the weights get heavy, the importance of balance is crucial, favoring one side will make the lifter tilt forward or back. also when you drive through your midfoot, you balancing the activation between your ham and glutes and your quads. If the lifter is having issues with heel coming up, have them do ankle and hip mobility.

    That's what I'm saying that seems really light for someone like him. But I know that they have plates that are up to 100 lb each so I was thinking that's what it was

    Back straight and upright is fine, you just have to have really flexible hip flexors and ankles, other wise your back is gonna curve when you hit full depth, aka excessive buttwink.
