and climb under it with a small hammer and tap the frame, everywhere....listen for the dreaded dead sound which indicates possible rust through.....focus on the frame nearest the catalytic converters

I was in a similar boat when I bought my '11. I wanted a Taco, but I didn't have the cash and needed a loan.

I had a hard time finding anything with reasonable miles and a reasonable price, but one thing to consider is if you're not paying cash and are getting an auto or personal loan. Look into new truck interest rates.

The monthly payment for a loan on a used truck, and a loan on a new truck were the same for me. So I said screw it and bought a new truck, haggled to a good price, got the options I want and it only had 8 miles on it.

    Good Luck!

yeah i look at it like w truck with 100000 on it has damage done to it that even with the best care you cant bring it back from what the first person did to it but one with one with like 50 you have a better chance of bring it back if there are limited records

I traded my 2006 with 175,000 miles and it ran as good as it did the day that I bought it, even the gas mileage was the same.

As previously stated, if the frame is good, plan to get at least 200K out of it. The downside is that these trucks hold their value, you'll still pay $12K for a truck with 150K.

    This.

150K I wouldn't barely blink at. That's just over broke in, for a Taco.

Call me when you get up 'round a quarter mil. NOW she's gettin' into the downside of things, value-wise.

I bought mine at 96000 miles over a year ago.

Only issues so far is a slow leak in the AC and seized callipers from playing around in the mud

    A little a this, a little a that...
I wouldn't worry about a Toyota truck with 100k and solid maintenance records. But i would definitely give it the full colonoscopy.
