If someone disconnected the key in switch, there is no way for the ecu to see the sequence.
Might want to pull the column shields and check .
I assume you still have regular door locks with your switch.
Didn't have a chance to look into this for you today.

I did the mod a few years ago to disable the Door chime. There is a little wire harness that you unplug near the ignition cylinder. No problem getting into program mode now. However, I have my fob able to unlock now, but can't get it to lock the doors. ??

You said there was an issue with the fob.
Each button push needs to have a output signal.

Make sure the key is out of the ignition

I'm having the same problem. I read through the string but I'm not understanding the bit about the column shields, etc. Were you ever able to get your new FOB keys programed?

    Was it a Toyota Dealership?

We call it the secret handshake. And yes the sequence involves plenty of door operation.. Lol

If it took a toyota tech 45min to program my fob, I would never visit that dealership again.

I'm having the same issue I replaced the battery, I can get my truck into program mode every time but at the end of the sequence when you insert the key in the ignition and close the door then turn key to on and back off, you do it once to add another remote, twice to program a remote and delete the others, three times to check how many is programmed, and five to delete all of the old remotes and the locks will cycle a certain amount of times depending on which mode you went too and I've tried every damn one of these and still can't get it to take the fob my locks will cycle twice every time, I've took the case off of the fob to make sure the fcc code matches and it does so if anyone is a Toyota tech that deals with this I would greatly appreciate any information you could give me lol this fob is about to meet my xdm
