Tell me about it. I had to miss rock therapy cause I was too weak to go. I didn't realize just how much radiation therapy took out of me, till I woke up at 3am and had to go to the ER.
I have all this stuff I need to do to the truck and I can't. It's killing me.

I feel your pain man. At the MCR ER again for the second time this week. The only time things were 'normal' was yesterday when she was on chemo. #'s 11 & 12 on the list & we're officially out of new chemos to try after this one. Hoping these are the answer but not off to a real good start so far. Sucks.

    Hang in there man.

Yep. Stage 4 breast cancer since 2007. Been in remission a few times included NED for extended periods. Good days & bad days. She was good for a while & we even got to take some fun trips & such. Lately things have turned worse though so we're just taking things as they come at us currently. I'm the only child of a single mother & we don't really have any family so being her sole caretaker is difficult at times. We're likely going to have to move her out of her place & into ours now. :(

    :(

I remember when my Mom was on Chemo, that crap is almost as bad as the cancer in my opinion. :(

I'll be sending strength an courage to both of ya. If anyone ever needs anything just let me know. Driving a few hours to help is not a big deal to me at all.

I have had this since 2011, I couldn't imagine longer, 5 kinds of chemotherapy a bone marrow transplant and then radiation therapy. It's Hodgkins Lymphoma, not supposed to be hard to get rid of, but my luck isn't so good with it.

It's funny, I went on a light the night for cancer walk last year. The guest speaker only went through her cancer for 6 months 1 kind of chemo and then remission. I looked at my wife and was like that's it?
I know it sounds heart less but they had this lady tell her story and it was short, really short. Kind of made me mad.

Yeah, it's no fun. After 7 years you'd think we'd be more used to it by now. Thanks for the thoughts man.

She's been on a dozen chemos (in different combinations at different doses & intervals) nearly constantly & various radiation treatments including 5 different ones for brain tumors. Currently she's got them in her brain, lung, side & one on her liver about the size if her liver. That one causes her issues sometimes because it grows large enough to press on her diaphragm. No fun. Right now the one on her side is causing her the most pain & they still don't even know what it is. After months if tests they haven't ruled out cancer, infection or localized radiation poisoning. Unfortunately this means we have to treat for all of the above. Ugh.

Regarding it not being difficult to get rid if supposedly: sometimes things that are supposed to be simple are complex & sometimes things that are supposed to be complex are simple. The only constant in life is change. Just keep up with treatments & keep on top of whatever your part in the whole process is no matter how trivial it sounds. Lots of times little things can turn big because someone didn't follow up or heed advice properly.

I hear ya man. Maybe they just wanted more of a positive & upbeat story w/a happy ending to set the mood of the event?

That's the only thing I could think of. Cause I could have gotten up and laid out what I had gone through so far and people would have been like of man.
The good thing is, is I was down in San Antonio TX during the Waldo canyon fire and missed all that smoke and crap. The bad part is I was getting the bone marrow transplant. But I guess it's the small stuff some times.

Take it from me, when you've done dozens (hundreds?) of those events you don't really want long drawn out pity parties of stories. Short, to the point & inspirational is preferred for us 'pros' :p

Yeah, short and to the point I guess is the best for that.

Yep. They finally got her some meds so she's resting comfortably. Not really sure what the plan will be moving forward though. Not sure if they're going to get her hydrated & release her or admit her for pain mitigation & monitoring.

Well I pray it won't be too long or too bad. Good luck.

To move into the mountains to a kind of duplex right on the side of a mountain in a canyon and have a long commute (48 miles one way), or to stay in town with a 15 mile each way commute, and pay about the same amount in higher rent (but less fuel costs so it's kind of a wash) for an apartment in a big complex run by Big_Apartment_Company_021941.

Time driving is lost, but living in the mountains would be pretty sweet, at least for a year during the lease.
