Naw, I don't hate him. I just hate the constant ball-cupping he gets because he's Tom fucking Brady.

Don't get me wrong, he's a damn fine QB. But Matt Casell tells me that, on another team with another supporting cast, he might not even be a starter. He's good, but not omg1bestevar bullshit.

Are they similar to the ones Cassel played with to a ...what was it, 10-6? 11-5? record?

Or is this a trick question?

Face it. If you're OK with admitting Cassel and Brady are close in skill with similar records with the same system and team, that's fine.

If not, you need to find out why Cassel isn't rated similarly. He had double digit wins with the same system, players, and coaches.

    Which is it?

Cassel? Dude you're fucking nuts. He had moss, welker, branch, etc. didn't make the playoffs. He didn't do a horrible job for us, but he isn't comparable to Brady. The only backup I would say that Brady had, that could maybe be compared, is Hoyer. Even Mallet is not that good, can throw hard, but no accuracy. I mean, look at last year, Brady's worst statistical season. Two receivers from the Broncos had more receiving yards than the entire cast of receivers for the patriots. In the AFC championship game, Brady is throwing to Matt Slater (special teams), Matt Mulligan (blocking TE), and Austin Collie (brain is mud) on the opening drive. Dafuq? And they still went 12-4, and made it to that game, it's not because of anything else other than Brady putting the fucking team on his shoulders, and winning. There isn't a QB out there that could have done what Brady did last year, with what Brady had, and we all know it. So cut the horse shit.

In all fairness, they SHOULD have made the playoffs that year. Them being out, IIRC, was like the Cards not making it in last season. Pure math fuckery.

Regardless....answer me this then: What were Brady's numbers with the same players? Say, the next season with mostly the same team? Better or worse than Cassel's 11-5?

I dislike the Patriots but Xaks you're wrong. Matt Cassel isn't qualified to hold Tom Brady's jock strap. His best pass catcher was Julian Edleman and he still managed to lead them to the playoffs.

My point isn't that Cassel is under-rated. My point is that Brady is OVER-rated.

Is he a damn good QB? Yes. Is he one of the most mechanically sound QBs that works harder all year than anyone this side of Peyton Manning to be as good as he possibly can? Yes.

Top 5 All Time Evar? Not even close. I wouldn't put him in the top 25 all time, much less top 5.

Not taking any of his work or accomplishments away. But stop sucking his ego long enough to realize Cassel to Brady is about the same result I get comparing Brady to Montana.

I'll be more than happy to talk about Johnny Douchebag this year if it keeps the topic off of Tom Brady.

the previous year, with the same players, Brady went 16-0, and set the TD record that Manning broke last season.

you're fucking retarded. I won't accept that Brady or Manning are not BOTH in the top 5 all time, even though Manning has the most playoff losses in NFL history...

And the next year, with the same players? I checked the wiki. 10-6.

    Yea, that's a problem.

Face it. It ain't that Brady's BAD, far from it. But to put him on par with Manning the Elder or Montana is like putting Flavor Flav next to the Pope since they both wear crosses.

huh? The elder Manning has 1 SB, and sucks in the post season. Montana has less post season wins, and ONE more SB, as well as having worse stats than Brady (though I don't think you can compare Montana and Brady). You can't really be this fucking stupid can you?

Tell you what, let me know when you're done editing so I know when to quote.

And Bert Favre has more INTs than anyone in history. Your point? I'd take Favre on a shitty but climbing team (Pack in 1991) over 'the backup goes 11-5' any day.

Any other useless points you'd like to bring up?

yeah, you're comparing the most winningest QB to one who cant hold a candle to him. He beat Peyton's record breaking team with nothing but shit, Gronk and Julian Edelman, after giving Peyton 24pts...

    *shrug*

The point here is, he went 16-0....then his backup went 11-5, and he went 10-6.

I'm not taking his stats away. 16-0 is pretty damned fine.

I'm not saying he's bad. He's one of the best in recent memory!

But to put him with Jim Kelly, Joe Montana, even Peyton? This is a trash talk thread, have at it. If we thought you were serious I'd be looking up the Bristol 'Baker Act' rules in your area for involuntary committal.

I don't understand how you can not put him in the same class as Peyton Manning. He beats Peyton more than Peyton beats him... what's that mean? nothing? If you're going to put Peyton or Brady in the Top 5, the other one should be right in front or right behind. If Tom Brady takes that Broncos team to SB 48, I bet a different outcome happens. Even if he doesn't win, he at least makes double-digits.
