I've heard it gives you a smoother ride, you want get the flat spots when tires are cold.

More of less. The air you breathe now is only 21% oxygen. so give it about 78% nitrogen and than 1% of other gasses like helium and other stuff like that. :)

nitrogen it makes no difference for the every day driver
we have done many tests to see if it did and if you think your getting
it free ah maybe i don't think so its built into the cost of the tire
you think that machine was free and if your getting it from the dealer
well we all know that most dealers don't give anything away for free
Maybe in racing but for the every day driver no one has proven
it to me so until that happens we will try to keep ours
prices down on the cost of tires believe me it not worth it
That is all :D oh and chris is right its 79%

Wow, I had to re-read that about 9 times. Longest. Sentence. Ever. Except, it never ended... Also the forum does do auto text wrap...

In racing, yes it does make a difference in some applications and the slights pressure difference can make huge changes at 180+ mph. However, like you said, daily driving it's negligible. On a hybrid with hyper-milling crap, it might be worth your time if you're THAT into it, but for the rest of the planet straight up air is good 'nuff.

As far as i know nitrogen is used in arctic conditions so there isnt as much pressure difference in the tires ( and, is the atom bigger? .. less leaking? ), iceland glaciers etc. Back in the 80s or 90s offroad magazines showed an article or 2 about extreme cold 4 wheeling and did a side article on nitrogen. So i feel marketing nitrogen is one of those things to make u feel like a pro. I go from 40-50 degrees to 25degrees skiing, i dont think i need it( watch me be soo wrong now lol!). You would most likely already know if you need it. I would try it if its free though. Always something scientifiky that sounds good designed to lighten the wallet.
Sorry got to go, see my steering wheel is getting trued and balanced.. for performance

When I got my new truck, the tires were already filled with nitrogen. The wheels even had fancy valve caps with the N2 on them. I didn't pay anymore for the truck and didn't pay any extra for the "air". I just got a new set of tires, and got nitrogen in them as well. Got the tires lower than I could find anywhere on-line so I didnt pay any extra for the tires. Don't really care either way, but it was free both times.
