That is a long ride.....Limped a "sick truck" home yesterday from Plant City across Rts. 60/17/31 to Ft Myers.....5 1/2 hours later  parked at the Shop..

These roads seem Rural at times BUT unless you fall behind "tired" Macks....55-60 can be had the majority of the trip...

I'm okay with that trip. It's just a matter of getting off work entirely.

HAHAHA! That's exactly what I say about Citrus. I "plan" to go to Citrus this Winter. Hope to see you there man.

Agreed! I've driven on route 60 & 17. I like rural areas. Now, taking 60 from Clearwater to Tampa & it's almost as bad as Miami traffic.

Dan, I guess you live pretty far east into WPB. I thought it would be less for you. 2 hours, 1 min from my house to Lazy Springs & I am in Miami. I find that all these Google Map calculations seem to extend the time a bit. Maybe it's based on what Google considers to be "average" traffic. So if you get no traffic then it's quicker.

I drove to Banner Elk, NC 4 years ago & Google stated 14 hrs. I did it in 13.5 & that's including 2 quick stops & I was driving the speed limit.

The problem is that there's no direct route to get there for me. You can shoot right up I-75 most of the way, so it's a fairly straight shot. With the city streets I have to drive to get there, it's actually almost the same time (20 min more) for me to drive south to I-75 and cross the state there.

Just installed front and rear 5100s, only took from 8am-12pm. Going to head out to Richloam tonight to have a fire and get stuck. Not much difference at all.

    Hey man,
Hope you had a good time at Richloam. I've never been there but I heard that it's mostly for 4WD.

Regarding your 5100 shocks/struts, you said that you didn't notice much difference at all. What did you have before? Did you set the front 5100's at factory level (the lowest setting) or did you bump it up some? Your truck is a TRD but it's a 1st gen which I am not too familiar. I assume they come with the yellow TRD shocks/struts like the 2nd gens do.

Well, in my case, my non-TRD Prerunner came with basic black shocks (Tokico, I think) which are twin tube. When I upgraded to 5100's, which are mono tube shocks & set at stock height, it was a day & night difference. The ride became more truck-like but not harsh.

    BTW,
Most sports cars come with mono tube shocks/struts for better handling.

My friend flaked on me so i didn't go. You can run 2WD out there, I know plenty of people that do. Just gun it and have mud tires. I set them in the middle setting and I checked them a few minutes ago and it's still on the middle setting. They came with the factory shocks which were yellow and like the 4600 series. My truck rides a little worse but I like to feel the road so I'm impressed with the ride now.

I had a...difficult time at Richloam. My one-wheel peel would get stuck in just about every waterhole. It was during the rainy season and it was flooded throughout.

It really depends on where you go and enter at. I've hit a few places where I've backed up and turned around because I didn't wanna take the time to get pulled out. If you know your way around you can avoid the deep holes and stick to the ones that you know you can go through and still have fun. I would be out there every couple days if I had a guy to go with. I've been during the dry season and we couldn't find mud to save our lives. Then during the wet season you find it in every dip. It's been raining a lot so I expect it to be decent.
