I guess I'm still not clear on how the cap rack secures to the Thule rails.

Regardless, your plan is to install and remove the mounting bolts that secure the cap rack (and thus, the RTT) to the cap each time? I wonder how much "hand and tool room" there will be.

Or, I can take mine off my truck and give you a discount on it. I will install the steel version on mine.

Would you consider building one of these for a 3rd generation 4Runner?

with the right width of crossbars the caprac will fit 3rd gen 4runners. I test fit one about a month ago, just haven't really started pushing it yet.

I honestly can't say right now. Probably 1 week is best case scenario and at most 2 weeks. I have just started working with a new shop. They told me 4-6 days to get the last order done and it has been almost 2 weeks. I am hoping it won't be a regular occurrence and they just were really busy. They have communicated really well the whole time just didn't really keep the original time frame.

OK. Purchasing a RTT and want it mounted this month. Probably just going to mount on a Baja rack, but I might be interested in your system in the future.

Alright, let me know if you decide differently. I actually just realized that I have a set of rails that I sent out for a tacoma shell and they needed to be modified for the size of crossbars I sent. Depending on the measurement of the mounting tracks on your 4runner They may work out. Either way let me know.

I'm very interested actually. I just got off the phone with CVT and they're telling me they can't even get me a Baja Rack for 4+ weeks. I really don't even want a Baja Rack, I just refuse to mount my RTT on crossbars so I felt like that was my best option. I would like to know the dimensions on your rack as well, I couldn't really see any. Concerned about the length mainly, I'd like to be able to mount the RTT up there and have room for gas cans as well.

The standard one is 44" wide by about 56" long. My RTT covers the whole thing. If you can stand a little bit more lead time we can do something a little more custom and get some more length out of it.

This makes me curious, as I am about to embark on my first long journey with my RTT on my Thule crossbars. Is there something I should know? Am I heading toward certain, impending doom? :)

    Zach,

So do you want to PM me a price on the rack on your truck? That'd be great if you have time to do so so I can give it some consideration.

Did you want just the rack on the cab or the one on the topper as well?

I have interest in both, actually. Would like to carry RTT on cap rack. Need a better understanding of how cap rack installs to cap and RTT to rack. I have a Leer installed Thule. Sounds like spacing is custom to a degree. I can get a measurement on my rails if that will help.

Not sure whether your racks are powder coated. I ultimately want black side rails and silver crossbars. If yours are black, I'd like your side rails and new crossbars.

Aesthetics are very important to me as well.
