Windows, frame and all, can be swapped out. I've watched it done on my cap three times, all under warranty.

I'm not sure of the model but it's a Leer topper I want to carry 2 78" fishing rods safely off the bed whats the best way. Also what model is this?

That's a 100rcc Comercial cap. For poles on the roof, I Would get a pvc tube. Or track down an old Leer or Thule locking rod/ reel holder.

    More likely a 100R

R normally have the windows cut. RCC come with the sides solid. I could be wrong though.

Anyways, it is an "100r" series in some sort of configuration

But really, I just lay my poles in the topper diagonal. No issues yet

I have a 100RCC with the side sliding windows

It's most likely a 100R because there is no roof rack pylons mounted through the roof

You can get a 100R with no side windows

    Your right.

With a 78" - ( 6'5" ) pole you could lay it across the back ledge of the topper side to side diagonal. I kept a 7' & 6'8" one piece side by side in my short bed like that for years. Once I get my gear back, I will continue to do it again.

Finally got my shell painted (was silver and drove with it that way for 8 months) this past weekend. Found the shell for $300 after looking for almost an entire year and then $250 paint job. The brand is ATC made in Kansas. Yakima racks.

Hey all, talking to a guy that is selling his truck with camper. He's willing to sell his shell for $1200. It's got side vented windoors, the fold-down vented front window and roof rack. He said it was $2500 new. His truck has 42,000 miles on it but I don't know how long the shell has been on it. Is $1200 a good deal for this (keeping in mind I'll have to get it painted)?

I see better deals all the time. I bought a top of the line ARE for $175 (they sell for over $2k), all it needed was to be painted...you can do better!

They seem to depreciate fairly fast, at least as far as resale. Mine was around $1600 new and I got it around 5 years later for $400 off here. A good deal but they can be found. Be patient. Craigslist is your friend.

I paid $1000 for the CX which is a little more expensive. So you are close.

Just bought my Tacoma last night and it came with a Leer Camper Shell. While it is nice, I do not need it for what I use the truck for.

Is $400 a good price? After reading some comments here, it seems I may be a little low because its in great condition.

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
depends on manufacturer, model, options, condition, etc etc. no set generic price for something w/ so many variables.

I had shopped for used for a while until I found the color match. They all seemed to be in the $1k range for a good quality in like new condition.

If he paid $2500 new for it he was taken over. I have a Leer top of the line cap and I paid $2200 for it last Sept. with Yakima rack system, roof liner, removable front slider, inside netting, insides screens. It's not that old since Yakima just started make those aero bars a couple of years ago. Offer him $1,000 for it or lower. If he is selling the truck he would make out better selling it to you.

Windoors aren't a cheap option. I think mine were $300. I paid $2200 for mine with tax. Had I got the roofrack option, it would have been $2500
