Okay I am probably going to sound like an idiot for asking this, but, why are you guys having to cut your firewall back so much? I just had to pound the seem flat and in just a bit and my tire clears just fine when it is stuffed in there.

Hmmm...I was turned to the passenger side completely stuffed and no rub??

Maybe I just didn't notice it rubbing because I was going so slow but I don't remember seeing and marks on the fire wall.

315/70/17 converts to 34.4." The title also states a 3" lift, but I bet most are at 2.75." Should we kick them out too?

    I will be going to 35 x 12.5 next anyway.... so :p

Is what you consider the stuffed the same as ours? Stuffing is when your tire is "stuffed" up into the wheel well. Locked and stuffed is turning while stuffed.

Example of stuffed... but then you need to turn.

    :p

Regardless of what the calc says it is, it's usually off by up to 1/2" but a 285/75/17 was quickly dismissed because of a 1/2" difference. :notsure:

I'm sorry to OP if this is pic heavy, this isn't all the photos but should give an indication of what's involved with not only the fire wall but we also drilled out the spot welds and moved the inner fender up more then 2 inches on each side. There are a couple shots with a tape measure for you to see how much it was moved up. Everything was welded back with the same metal that we took off the truck so technically it's all OEM sheet metal...(Still thinkin this might work at the dealer for warranty work...) Again this isn't all the photos but if you want me to take some down I can, i'm not trying to hyjack this thread...

I believe web wheelers are the only ones who bash a 315. I must have missed the dismissal while I was out wheeling my truck on my 34.5" baby tires! lol

Everyone I seem to talk to (in person) says 33s when they have 285s and 35s on 315s. It's not like one requires cutting and one doesn't. If you stuff a 315 it is a lot of work. On top of that depending on what tire you run there is a considerable variance between brands and sizes available. There is no option for a 35x12.5 duratrac or I would be running it.

Side note: If we are getting technical a 285/75/17 is 33.8" so I am assuming you meant 285/75/16 or 285/70/17. A gsxr 1000 is 999 cc, but people call them thousands.

I said 285/75 but the numbers I go by are the diameter numbers on the tires mfg's website but if you want to get butthurt over me saying 315s are bitch tires (jokingly I might add) that's cool.

Side note, gsxr's are for bitches as well.
