    Most of the time...

    A good indicator when working as a fireman to notify the FM is if there's fire in all compartments of the vehicle without the fire being "connected" or if it appears to start in the trunk or similar.

    Not necessarily a hard and fast rule but it at least warrants a more thorough investigation.

    Could be radio if they didn't do it right? My guess would be arson though. Someone stole my uncles vw a week or two ago
    and tried torching it by igniting paper in the gas cap. fortunately they were too dumb to realize it was a diesel and never ignited.
